The RBC Canadian Open 2026 Betting Preview

The PGA Tour heads north of the border this week for the RBC Canadian Open, with the tournament doubling up as the final tune-up before next week’s US Open. With one of the year’s biggest majors just around the corner, many of the world’s best will be looking to sharpen their game in Ontario before chasing another major title. We take a look at this week’s tournament from a betting angle and lay down a few suggested plays.

The Course

This week’s PGA Tour action heads to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ontario, for the RBC Canadian Open. The North Course is the venue, a Doug Carrick design that underwent a significant renovation in 2023 to prepare it for tour-level play. The par-70 layout stretches to around 7,389 yards(6756m), making it one of the longer tests on tour, but it plays a little more generously thanks to fairway widths that average 39 yards, the seventh-widest on tour. With twelve par-4s, only two par-5s and four par-3s, the layout puts a real premium on iron play and birdie conversion.

From a betting angle, the big caveat this week is that this is only the second time the Canadian Open has been played at this venue, with Ryan Fox winning the inaugural edition at 18-under last year. That makes course form a very limited dataset and means we need to lean on the broader picture: a long, parkland-style layout with wide fairways where length off the tee and quality iron play through the bag should both be rewarded. Expect another low number in the 17-to-22-under range to lift the trophy.

Market Leaders

Tommy Fleetwood is the favourite this week at 13.00 in what is otherwise a wide-open market. Sam Burns and Matt Fitzpatrick are level at 15.00, with Fitzpatrick in particular having been one of the form players of the year. Wyndham Clark is next at 21.00, with Collin Morikawa and Kristoffer Reitan both available at 26.00. With no overwhelming favourite at the top of the board and course form essentially non-existent here, this looks like a week where finding value further down the list could well be the play.

2025     Ryan Fox (Australia)                      -18         TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley

2024     Robert McIntyre (Scotland)       -16         Hamilton

2023     Nick Taylor (Canada)                    -17         Oakdale

2022     Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland)      -19         St George’s

2021     Cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic

Selections:

Sam Burns at 15.00

Our first pick of the week is Sam Burns. The American put in an impressive performance at the Memorial last week, staying in contention until a bogey on 17 after finding the rough off the tee, ultimately missing out on the win by two shots and finishing fourth. He also finished runner-up at last year’s RBC Canadian Open, making him one of only a handful of players in this field with any real course form to lean on. Coming into this week off a strong performance at Muirfield, I expect another solid week from him at 15.00.

Suggested bet: Sam Burns each way at 15.00

Kristoffer Reitan at 26.00

Reitan has flown under the radar this season, but looking at his form over the last few weeks I think he is arguably the most in-form player heading into this tournament. His last four results read: 6th at the Memorial last week, 44th at the PGA Championship (his only sub-par performance), a win at the Truist Championship, 14th at the Miami Championship and a runner-up at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Reitan has worked his way up to 24th in the world, and a big part of that has been his strokes gained off the tee, where he is ranked 20th on Tour for that stat. With this week’s event being played at a long parkland venue, strokes gained off the tee will play a vital role for the players looking to contend, and I like him a lot at 26.00.

Suggested bet: Kristoffer Reitan each way at 26.00

Mackenzie Hughes at 67.00

Hughes is our outside pick this week for one main reason: home-ground advantage. As we saw back in 2023 when Nick Taylor won the Canadian Open in front of his home fans, Canadian golfers tend to find another level when they play in their own backyard, and the chance doesn’t come around often. Hughes is coming off a tied-10th finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge, just three shots off the lead. He finished 27th at last year’s RBC Canadian Open and had an even better time in 2024 with a 7th-place result. With form and the home crowd both in his corner, I think Hughes can produce a big week in front of his own people at 67.00.

Suggested bet: Mackenzie Hughes top 10 finish at 7.50
