We take a look at four World Cup group stage fixtures taking place on Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of June and suggest a bet in each encounter.
Switzerland begin their campaign against Qatar while Brazil face a tricky opening assignment against Morocco. Scotland take on Haiti before Australia and Türkiye clash in Group D.
SATURDAY
Qatar vs Switzerland
Qatar enter the World Cup looking to improve on a difficult run of results over the last several months. The hosts of the 2022 edition have struggled for consistency and arrive having failed to win any of their last six completed matches.
Their latest outing ended in a goalless draw against El Salvador after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Ireland.
Switzerland head into the tournament in far stronger form and have regularly produced positive performances against quality opposition. The side drew 1-1 with Australia in their most recent fixture after a convincing 4-1 victory over Jordan.
Prior to that they held Norway to a goalless draw and pushed Germany all the way in a thrilling 4-3 defeat.
Head-to-Head
The only previous meeting between the nations came in 2018 when Qatar secured a surprise 1-0 victory over Switzerland in an International Friendly as huge underdogs.

Qatar 14.00
Draw 6.75
Switzerland 1.22
Verdict
Qatar have found goals difficult to come by and have struggled against stronger opposition. Switzerland possess greater quality throughout the squad and have consistently competed well against solid European sides. They should control proceedings and begin their World Cup campaign with a comfortable victory, and I am predicting they will not face much trouble across the game.

SUNDAY
Brazil vs Morocco
Brazil arrive at the World Cup in encouraging form after winning three of their last four matches. The five-time champions defeated Egypt 2-1 in their most recent fixture after recording a dominant 6-2 victory over Panama and a 3-1 success against Croatia.
Their attack has looked particularly dangerous in recent months, and their only setback came in a 2-1 loss against France.
Morocco have quietly assembled one of the longest unbeaten runs among the teams entering the tournament. The Africans drew 1-1 with Norway in their most recent fixture after stringing together three comfortable victories over Madagascar, Burundi and Paraguay.
They have been outstanding, currently holding a streak of over 9 months without facing a singular loss.
Head-to-Head
The nations have met twice previously with each side recording one victory. Morocco claimed a 2-1 win in a 2023 International Friendly while Brazil won 3-0 when they met at the 1998 World Cup.

Brazil 1.61
Draw 4.00
Morocco 5.75
Verdict
Morocco are a disciplined and difficult side to break down, however Brazil possess elite attacking talent and arrive with strong momentum of their own. With both sides carrying solid performances into the competition and Brazil’s defence not being completely watertight, I see value in both teams finding the back of the net.

Haiti vs Scotland
Haiti come into their opener after producing mixed results during their last few preparation matches.
They suffered a 2-1 defeat against Peru in their latest clash but had previously impressed with a commanding 4-0 victory over New Zealand. Earlier this year they also earned a draw against Iceland while narrowly losing 1-0 to Tunisia.
Scotland head into the World Cup full of confidence following back-to-back victories. They thrashed Bolivia 4-0 in their latest action after recording another 4-1 win over Curaçao.
Although they endured 1-0 defeats against Ivory Coast and Japan earlier in the year, their recent attacking displays suggest they are finding form at the right time.
Head-to-Head
There have been no previous meetings between Haiti and Scotland.

Haiti 6.00
Draw 4.25
Scotland 1.57
Verdict
Haiti have shown flashes of quality, but Scotland appear to possess greater experience and attacking depth. The Scots have scored eight goals across their last two matches and look capable of carrying that momentum into their opening group fixture, despite this I am playing it safe with a straight Scotland to win pick.
BET: Scotland to Win at 1.57
Australia vs Türkiye
Australia come into this match under pressure following a mixed sequence of results. They drew 1-1 with Switzerland the last time they played after losing narrowly to Mexico by a one goal margin.
Prior to that they recorded 5-1 and 1-0 victories over Curaçao and Cameroon, showing defensive improvement after some difficult performances late last year.
Türkiye arrive in excellent form and are unbeaten in their last eight matches. They defeated Venezuela 2-1 in their latest fixture which came after a convincing 4-0 victory against North Macedonia.
Earlier successes over Kosovo and Romania, together with a 2-2 draw away to Spain further highlight their growing confidence as a squad.
Head-to-Head
Türkiye have won both previous meetings between the nations. The most recent encounter ended in a 1-0 victory for Türkiye while they also claimed a 3-1 success during the same series in 2004.

Australia 5.25
Draw 3.85
Türkiye 1.73
Verdict
Australia have shown signs of improvement, but Türkiye appear to be the stronger side on current form. They are organised defensively, carry plenty of attacking threat and have already enjoyed success in this matchup previously. Based on this I believe they look well positioned to begin their campaign with a victory.
BET: Türkiye to Win at 1.73
