UFC Fight Night heads to the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on Saturday the 22nd of August with a middleweight main event between Anthony Hernandez and Gregory Rodrigues topping the bill. We take a closer look at the Main Event as well as two additional bouts from the Main Card from a betting angle below.

ANTHONY HERNANDEZ vs GREGORY RODRIGUES
Middleweight – Main Event:
Anthony Hernandez enters this main event with a UFC record of 9 wins and 3 losses. The American has firmed his place in the rankings as one of the most relentless grapplers, combining a high pace with strong wrestling and an excellent submission arsenal.
He comes into this matchup following a third round TKO defeat to Sean Strickland after previously submitting Roman Dolidze in the fourth round. Before that he earned a unanimous decision victory over Brendan Allen and stopped Michel Pereira in the fifth round via knockout.
Gregory Rodrigues arrives to the octagon with 13 fights behind him under the promotion of which he has won 10 and lost 3. The Brazilian is one of the division’s most dangerous knockout artists and possesses the power to change a fight with a single clean combination.
His latest appearance resulted in a knockout victory over Bruno Ferreira after previously picking up a decision triumph over Roman Kopylov and stopping Jack Hermansson in the opening round. Prior to that he fell short against Jared Cannonier to end a three fight winning streak.

PREDICTION:
Hernandez should look to take this fight into the clinch and repeatedly test Rodrigues with his wrestling and submission game. Rodrigues carries serious knockout power but Hernandez’s pressure and ability to maintain a high pace could become increasingly difficult to deal with as the fight progresses. I expect Rodrigues to survive the early work on the canvas and land a brutal blow as he has in the past to defy the betting odds.

Heavyweight – Main Card Bout:
Serghei Spivac enters this bout with a resume of 9 wins and 6 losses within the institution. The Moldovan heavyweight has built his career around powerful wrestling, top control and dangerous striking, although his recent results have highlighted some inconsistency against the division’s stronger opposition.
He comes into this matchup following a unanimous decision victory over Ante Delija after previously suffering a decision defeat to Waldo Cortes Acosta. Before that he was stopped by Jailton Almeida but had earlier submitted Marcin Tybura in the opening round.
Vitor Petrino arrives with a UFC record of 7 wins and 2 losses throughout his career. The Brazilian has shown an aggressive finishing style since joining the UFC, pairing solid striking with a developing submission skill set.
His most recent action resulted in a unanimous decision victory over Steven Asplund which followed a stoppage win over Thomas Petersen in the third round. Before that he submitted Austen Lane although he had been taken care of inside the distance by Dustin Jacoby and Anthony Smith in 2024.

PREDICTION:
Spivac’s wrestling could give Petrino problems if he is able to establish any sort of ground control but Petrino appears to have the sharper striking and greater finishing threat. The Brazilian has also shown that he can handle longer fights, while Spivac has struggled when facing opponents capable of keeping him from dictating exchanges. I expect Petrino to defend enough of the takedown attempts before finding the shots needed to finish the fight.
REINIER DE RIDDER vs ROMAN DOLIDZE
Light Heavyweight – Main Card Bout:
Reinier de Ridder comes into this contest holding a tally of 4 wins and 2 losses under the organisation. The Dutchman is an accomplished submission specialist who has built his success around strong grappling and the ability to control opponents once the fight reaches the canvas.
He comes into this matchup following a unanimous decision defeat to Caio Borralho after previously suffering a fourth round TKO loss to Brendan Allen and although he had won 4 fights consecutively before this, he is making his move up to light heavyweight on Sunday.
Roman Dolidze arrives with a UFC record of 9 wins and 5 losses. The Georgian is a physically strong and versatile fighter with powerful striking, although he has struggled for consistency against some of the division’s more technical opponents which has urged his move to explore a new weight class.
His latest appearance resulted in a unanimous decision defeat to Christian Leroy Duncan after previously losing to Anthony Hernandez by fourth round submission. Before those setbacks he defeated Marvin Vettori by unanimous decision and stopped Kevin Holland in the first round.

PREDICTION:
De Ridder should have the advantage whenever this fight enters goes to the canvas, where his submission game and positional control can cause Dolidze serious problems. Dolidze remains dangerous because of his physical strength and striking power but de Ridder’s technical grappling should allow him to dictate the pace. I expect the Dutchman to control the majority of the fight and secure a clear decision victory.
