Formula 1 is back this weekend after the summer break, with the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort kicking off the second-half of the 2026 season.
Kimi Antonelli heads into the Netherlands as the runaway leader of the Drivers’ Championship after a stunning first-half of the year, while Mercedes are cruising towards the Constructors’ crown. Max Verstappen will be looking to bounce back to form in front of his adoring home crowd at Zandvoort, off the back of a solid runner-up finish in Hungary last time out.
With a track that always throws up drama, unpredictable coastal weather and a wall of orange support, we should be treated to a fascinating weekend of racing.
DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
Kimi Antonelli continues to dominate the Drivers’ Championship after the mid-season break, sitting on 219 points well clear of the chasing pack. Lewis Hamilton has moved into second on 169 points, with George Russell just behind him on 160. Charles Leclerc sits fourth on 138 points, Lando Norris fifth on 128 after his Hungarian win, and Max Verstappen has now dropped to sixth on 109 despite some recent signs of life.
The bookies see Antonelli as an almost-certainty for the title at just 1.25, a price that reflects his enormous points lead heading into the second-half of the season. Hamilton is next in at 7.00, with Russell out at 19.00 and clearly running out of races to catch his young Mercedes team-mate. Leclerc drifts out to 23.00, Norris to 26.00 and Verstappen all the way out to 41.00 as a genuine long shot from here.

CONSTRUCTORS CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
Mercedes are cruising to the Constructors’ Championship, sitting on 379 points and holding a huge 72-point buffer over second-placed Ferrari on 307. With both of their drivers still fighting for the drivers’ title, they have consistently outscored the field week in and week out. Mercedes are priced at just 1.11 to lift the crown come the end of the season, while Ferrari have drifted out to 6.00. McLaren find themselves in third on 220 points and are out at 26.00.

Last Race – Hungarian GP 2026
The last race before the summer break at the Hungaroring was won brilliantly by Lando Norris, who took a superb victory for McLaren. Max Verstappen produced a strong drive to finish second for Red Bull, backing up his Belgian podium from the round before, while championship leader Kimi Antonelli came home third for Mercedes to extend his lead at the top of the standings. Charles Leclerc was fourth for Ferrari, with Lewis Hamilton rounding out the top five in the sister Ferrari.
Dutch GP 2025
Last year’s Dutch GP was won by Oscar Piastri for McLaren, with Max Verstappen taking second on home soil to keep the orange army happy. Isack Hadjar produced a superb third-place finish for Red Bull, with George Russell fourth for Mercedes. Elsewhere, Lando Norris could only manage 18th and Kimi Antonelli was 16th on tough afternoons for both, while Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton both retired from the race.
Circuit Zandvoort
Circuit Zandvoort is one of the most unique and technical tracks on the entire F1 calendar. Set among the sand dunes on the Dutch North Sea coast, the 4.259km layout features 14 corners including the famous banked Hugenholtz and Arie Luyendyk turns, which put a serious premium on chassis balance and driver confidence.
Overtaking is notoriously difficult at Zandvoort, meaning qualifying is going to be absolutely crucial once again this weekend. Add in the ever-changing coastal weather and the wall of orange support in the grandstands, and this promises to be a fantastic weekend of racing.

Betting and Verdict:
Kimi Antonelli continues to be the standout driver of the season, and it is very hard to bet against him again this weekend. He now has six wins to his name across the year and his consistency across every type of circuit and weather condition has been remarkable for a driver in only his second season. With the Mercedes clearly the class of the field and Antonelli at the top of his game, 3.10 for another race win looks a very fair price given just how dominant he has been this year.
Suggested bet: Kimi Antonelli to win at 3.10.
Our next pick is Max Verstappen for a top-3 finish. Verstappen finished 2nd in the last race at the Hungaroring and, crucially, also finished 2nd here at Zandvoort last year in front of his adoring home fans. There is nowhere he wants to perform more than in the Netherlands, and the roar of the orange grandstands always seems to lift the Red Bull driver to another level. Given his recent form and home advantage, 3.00 for a podium looks a strong value play.
