The third round of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League continues on Wednesday the 21st of October with some enticing fixtures on the schedule. Como welcome Manchester United to Italy, Aston Villa host Viking and Bayern Munich face Arsenal in Germany in what shapes up as the match of the round. We take a closer look at all three encounters from a betting perspective below.
Como vs Manchester United – Click here to bet
Como opened their Champions League campaign in impressive fashion, recording a commanding 4-1 home victory over RB Leipzig. They were unable to follow that up with another positive result, however, suffering a narrow 3-2 defeat away to Feyenoord in their second appearance.
Those results leave the Italian side in 17th position with three points, having scored six goals and conceded four. Como have found the net at least twice in both fixtures and will look to build on their convincing opening performance at home.
Manchester United sit one place below their opponents in 18th, also with three points after registering one victory and one defeat. The English side have netted four goals and conceded twice across their opening two matches.
United began with a comfortable 4-0 home win over Sabah Baku before facing a tougher examination away to Atletico Madrid. That trip ended in a 2-0 defeat, leaving them searching for their first away points of the campaign.
Head-to-Head
These clubs have not previously met, making this their first competitive encounter.
Match Odds (1X2)
Como: 2.25
Draw: 3.85
Manchester United: 3.15
Verdict
Como’s attacking performances have been encouraging despite their defeat last time out, with six goals across two matches suggesting they can cause United problems. The visitors were comfortable against Sabah Baku but failed to score in their first away fixture against Atletico Madrid. Como have already delivered an impressive home result against RB Leipzig, and I am backing them to make home advantage count again in a competitive encounter.
BET: Como to Win at 2.25
Aston Villa vs Viking – Click here to bet
Aston Villa occupy 4th position on the log after collecting maximum points from their opening two fixtures while nine goals scored and only two slipping at the back underline the strength of their start.
Villa began by edging Club Brugge 3-2 away from home before producing one of the standout performances of the second round. Their first home appearance brought a comprehensive 6-0 victory over Fenerbahce, leaving them full of confidence ahead of another fixture in front of their own supporters.
Viking earned their first point of the league phase with a remarkable 3-3 home draw against Bayern Munich. That result followed a 3-1 defeat away to Stuttgart, placing the Norwegian side 29th with a goal difference of -2.
Their route into the competition included a successful qualifying tie against Dinamo Zagreb. Viking drew the away leg 2-2 before securing a 3-1 home victory, although they are still searching for their first league phase win.
Head-to-Head
These clubs have not previously met, making this their first competitive encounter.
Match Odds (1X2)
Aston Villa: 1.23
Draw: 7.75
Viking: 12.00
Verdict
Viking’s draw against Bayern Munich provides a reminder of their attacking threat but conceding three goals in each of their opening two fixtures is a concern ahead of this trip. Villa have been clinical in the competition and their six goal victory over Fenerbahce showed how dangerous they can be on home soil. The visitors could create opportunities, although I expect Villa’s attacking quality to prove decisive and deliver a third consecutive European victory in a high scoring match.

Bayern Munich vs Arsenal – Click here to bet
Bayern Munich followed a dominant first performance with a frustrating result in Norway. After sweeping aside Bodo/Glimt 5-0 at home, the German side were held to a 3-3 draw away to Viking in their latest travel.
Despite this Bayern remain unbeaten with four points and sit 12th on the table. They have scored eight goals across their two appearances, although conceding three times against Viking gives them something to address before Arsenal’s visit.
Arsenal have built their perfect start around a defence that has yet to concede in the competition. A narrow 1-0 victory away to Napoli was followed by a convincing 3-0 home win over Lille.
The Gunners occupy 8th spot overall with six points, having scored four goals while keeping successive clean sheets. Their opening victory in Italy also gives them a positive away result to draw on ahead of another demanding European trip.
Head-to-Head
Arsenal won the most recent meeting between these clubs, recording a 3-1 home victory during the 2025/26 Champions League campaign.
Their previous competitive encounters came in the 2023/24 quarter-finals. A 2-2 draw in London left the tie evenly poised before Bayern secured a 1-0 home victory to advance to the semi-finals.
Match Odds (1X2)
Bayern Munich: 2.10
Draw: 3.85
Arsenal: 3.40
Verdict
Bayern’s eight goals highlight their attacking strength, but Arsenal arrive with a defensive record that should make this a much tougher assignment than the hosts’ opening home fixture. The Gunners have won both matches without conceding and have already shown they can secure a result away from home against strong opposition. Bayern remain dangerous on their own ground but their draw against Viking exposed defensive weaknesses. I am backing Arsenal to edge a closely contested encounter, at a tempting price.
BET: Arsenal to Win at 3.40
