Sekhukhune United have taken 3 points from their opening two matches and currently sit 7th on the log. They started the campaign with a disciplined 1-0 home win over Durban City, where their defensive organisation proved decisive.
However, Sekhukhune were beaten 2-0 away by Kaizer Chiefs in their second league fixture on Wednesday. They struggled to create clear opportunities and will be eager to respond positively back on home soil.
Polokwane City have made a solid start to the season and sit 3rd on the log with 4 points. They opened with an impressive 2-1 away victory over Richards Bay.
They then played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Stellenbosch FC in the midweek. Polokwane looked dangerous going forward throughout the match and have already scored five goals in their opening two fixtures although their defensive line has not looked overly convincing.

This has been a closely contested fixture in recent seasons. Sekhukhune have won 2 of the last 6 meetings, Polokwane have won 1, while 3 matches have ended in draws. Kruger United have made a difficult start to life in the top flight and sit 16th on the log with 1 point. They opened with a 3-1 home defeat to Kaizer Chiefs before settling for a 0-0 away draw against Marumo Gallants on Wednesday.
The draw provided a much needed defensive improvement, although they have managed only one goal in their opening two league matches and will need to start firing on attack if they are to remain in the Premiership.
