The PSL continues on Saturday the 12th of September with three fixtures on the programme. AmaZulu welcome Marumo Gallants, Polokwane City face Kaizer Chiefs before Chippa United take on Mamelodi Sundowns. We cover all three encounters from a betting perspective below.
AmaZulu vs Marumo Gallants – click here to bet
AmaZulu occupy 4th position overall after collecting 10 points from their first five league matches. They opened the campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory away to Stellenbosch before holding Orlando Pirates to a 1-1 draw.
They followed that result up with a comfortable 2-0 home win over Siwelele and although they suffered a heavy 5-2 beating against Mamelodi Sundowns, they responded impressively by defeating Richards Bay 2-1 away in their latest appearance.
Marumo Gallants remain without a victory and sit 14th on the table having earned only 2 points from five fixtures. A goalless draw against Kruger United to begin their campaign was followed by three consecutive defeats against Stellenbosch, Mamelodi Sundowns and TS Galaxy.
Gallants ended that losing sequence with a 2-2 home draw against Polokwane City and have now scored 5 goals this season despite conceded 10 which leaves them with one of the weaker defensive records in the division.
Head-to-Head:
AmaZulu hold the advantage across the previous six encounters, recording three victories while Gallants have won twice and one match ended level.
AmaZulu completed a league double over Gallants last season, earning 1-0 victories both home and away. However, Gallants also defeated AmaZulu 1-0 in the Nedbank Cup during the previous campaign.
Odds: AmaZulu 2.10 | Draw 3.25 | Marumo Gallants 4.00
Verdict:
AmaZulu have made the more convincing start and enter this match after winning three of their five league assignments. Their ability to recover from the defeat against Sundowns with an away victory over Richards Bay was particularly encouraging for the side.
Gallants have shown some attacking improvement by scoring four times across their last two matches, but their defensive vulnerability remains a concern. AmaZulu have also won the last two league meetings between the sides without conceding although the fixtures were well contested.
With home advantage and stronger early season form, I think AmaZulu look well placed to collect another three points here.
Bet: AmaZulu to Win at 2.10

Polokwane City vs Kaizer Chiefs – Click here to bet
Polokwane City are 10th on the table with 6 points from their first five fixtures. Their only victory came on the opening weekend when they defeated Richards Bay 2-1 away from home.
Since then, they have drawn 3-3 with Stellenbosch, lost 2-0 away to Sekhukhune United and played out a goalless stalemate with Milford FC. Their latest match produced another draw as they came from their meeting with Marumo Gallants following a 2-2 result.
Kaizer Chiefs remain unbeaten and sit 3rd in the rankings after taking 11 points from five league matches. Their campaign began with victories over Kruger United and Sekhukhune United before they held Mamelodi Sundowns to a 1-1 draw.
A 2-2 scoreline away to Richards Bay followed before they returned to winning ways with an entertaining 3-2 home victory over Siwelele last weekend.
Head-to-Head:
Kaizer Chiefs have won two of the last six meetings while Polokwane City have claimed one victory and the remaining three encounters ended in 0-0 draws.
Chiefs won the first league meeting last season 1-0 before the return fixture ended goalless.
Odds: Polokwane City 4.25 | Draw 3.15 | Kaizer Chiefs 2.10
Verdict:
Polokwane have suffered only one defeat this season, but three stalemates underline their difficulty in turning competitive performances into victories. They have also conceded eight goals through five matches which has raised concern on the strength of their defensive unit.
Chiefs have carried greater attacking creativity and arrive with confidence after defeating Siwelele. Their unbeaten record includes strong results both home and away, although their recent history against Polokwane suggests another demanding contest.
The hosts should offer resistance but Chiefs superior form and firepower make the away victory my preferred selection.
Bet: Kaizer Chiefs to Win at 2.10
Chippa United vs Mamelodi Sundowns – click here to bet
Chippa United have collected 4 points from five matches and occupy 12th position after being plagued with draws across their first month of the season. Their 2026/27 run began with consecutive draws against Golden Arrows and Richards Bay before they suffered a 3-0 home defeat against Orlando Pirates.
The side have since recorded further draws with Siwelele and Milford FC and while they have been relatively organised defensively outside the Pirates defeat, their output of only two goals highlights their lack of attacking threat.
Mamelodi Sundowns lead the Premiership standings with 19 points after winning six and drawing one of their seven fixtures and they have produced 18 goals while conceding only 6 during their unbeaten start.
Sundowns arrive on the back of a five-match winning streak after victories over Marumo Gallants, AmaZulu, Milford FC, Golden Arrows and most recently Siwelele where they put up a dominant display at home to win 3-0.
Head-to-Head:
Mamelodi Sundowns have enjoyed this matchup in recent years, winning five of the previous six encounters while the remaining fixture ended in a draw.
They won 4-1 in the most recent meeting in April and have also recorded victories of 3-0 in both clashes played during the 2024/25 tournament. The only positive moment for Chippa during this time period was in their first meeting last season where they held Sundowns to a 1-1 stalemate at home.
Odds: Chippa United 11.00| Draw 5.25 | Mamelodi Sundowns 1.33
Verdict:
Chippa have proven difficult to beat in several matches but their inability to score regularly leaves little room for error against the league leaders. Facing a Sundowns side averaging more than two goals per fixture represents a considerable step up in difficulty even with Chippa’s home support behind them.
The visitors are producing consistent results and have already won three consecutive away matches while their dominant head-to-head record further strengthens their position as clear favourites.
I believe Sundowns should control possession, create the better opportunities and extend their winning run with another away victory.
Bet: Asian Handicap Sundowns -1.5 goals at 1.91
