Mamelodi Sundowns lead the Premiership table with 16 points after winning five and drawing one of their opening six fixtures. They are 3 points clear of Pirates who have played a game less.
They began their campaign with a narrow 3-2 victory away to TS Galaxy before earning a competitive 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs.
Sundowns have since recorded four consecutive league victories, scoring 11 goals during that run. They defeated Marumo Gallants 2-0, produced an emphatic 5-2 triumph against AmaZulu and followed that result with another 2-0 home victory over Milford FC.
The Tshwane outfit maintained their winning momentum when they travelled to Golden Arrows on Sunday. Sundowns handed Arrows their first league defeat of the season with a 2-1 victory, taking their overall return to 15 goals scored and 6 conceded.
Siwelele remain without a victory after five league matches and occupy 14th position with 2 points. Their season began with an entertaining 2-2 home draw against TS Galaxy, but they were then beaten in consecutive away fixtures.
A 1-0 defeat against Milford FC was followed by a 2-0 loss at AmaZulu. Siwelele responded by earning a 1-1 draw at home to Chippa United before travelling to Kaizer Chiefs for their latest test.
Despite producing a competitive attacking display against Chiefs, Siwelele suffered a 3-2 defeat. They have now scored just 5 goals while letting 9 breach their defensive line across their opening five matches, with all three of their defeats coming away from home.
Head-to-Head:
The sides met twice during the 2025/26 Premiership campaign. Their first encounter ended in a 1-1 draw at Siwelele before Sundowns produced a remarkable attacking performance in the reverse fixture.
That meeting delivered 11 goals as Sundowns claimed an entertaining 7-4 home victory. The result means Siwelele have scored against the defending champions in both of their previous league encounters, although they are yet to record a victory in this matchup.

Odds: Mamelodi Sundowns 1.26 | Draw 6.25 | Siwelele 14.00
Verdict:
Sundowns have made a commanding start to the new campaign and enter this contest after four consecutive league victories. Their attacking strength has been particularly impressive, with the champions scoring at least twice in five of their six Premiership matches.
Siwelele showed greater attacking ambition during their narrow defeat to Kaizer Chiefs, but their defensive record remains a concern. They have conceded in every league fixture this season and have lost all three of their away assignments.
Sundowns should dominate possession and create enough opportunities to secure another comfortable result.
Bet: Asian Handicap, Sundowns -1.5 goals at 1.80
