The 2026/27 UEFA Nations League 2nd round continues on Tuesday the 29th of September with two Group 3 fixtures on the schedule. Czech Republic welcome England before Spain host Croatia and we take a look at both fixtures from a betting perspective below.
Czech Republic vs England – click here to bet
Czech Republic began their campaign with a 2-1 home defeat to Croatia. A goal for Croatia put the visitors ahead shortly after half time but Adam Karabec equalised in the 54th minute. Croatia scored the winner in the 77th minute.
They now face a second consecutive home fixture and will be desperate to respond but they will need to tighten up at the back.
England started the tournament off with a 3-2 home defeat to Spain. Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane scored in the first half to give England a 2-1 lead at the break, but Spain struck twice after half-time to take all three points.
England travel to Czech Republic having shown attacking promise against the group favourites but, much like their opponents they will want a more secure defensive performance after conceding three goals on Saturday.
Head-to-Head
England have won three of the five meetings listed between the nations, while Czech Republic have won one and the other ended in a draw.
England won their most recent encounter 1-0 at the Euro in 2020. Czech Republic claimed a 2-1 victory in Prague in 2019 after England won the earlier meeting that year 5-0.
Match Odds (1X2)
Czech Republic: 8.50
Draw: 5.50
England: 1.38
Verdict
Both teams need a response after narrow opening defeats. Czech Republic made Croatia work for their victory, but England created chances against Spain and have won three of the five meetings between the nations. I am backing the visitors to earn their first points of the campaign in a game where 3 goals or more are scored.

Spain vs Croatia – click here to bet
Spain kicked off their competition with a 3-2 victory away to England. Lamine Yamal gave them an early lead, but they trailed 2-1 at half time before goals from Alex Baena and Mikel Oyarzabal completed the comeback.
They now return home with three points banked from a tough match up. Scoring three times away to England will give Spain confidence but having their defensive lines breached twice leaves room for improvement at the back.
Croatia experienced a solid start this weekend beating Czech Republic 2-1. Luka Modric opened the scoring in the 47th minute before the hosts equalised but Marco Pasalic restored Croatia’s lead in the 77th minute.
Croatia arrive level with Spain on three points. Their win in Prague showed they can handle a difficult away fixture, and they will need another disciplined display against the group leaders.
Head-to-Head
Spain have won four of the last six meetings listed between the nations, while Croatia have won two.
Spain won their most recent encounter 3-0 at the Euro 2024. They also beat Croatia 1-0 in the 2023 Nations League final and 5-3 at the Euro in 2020.
Match Odds (1X2)
Spain: 1.21
Draw: 7.50
Croatia: 14.00
Verdict
The two teams opened with valuable away wins but Spain’s comeback against England underlined their attacking strength. Croatia are capable of keeping this competitive but Spain have won the last three meetings and will have home advantage. I am backing them to make it two victories from two, and similarly to the last two meetings between the sides, I expect them to keep a clean sheet.
