EVERTON vs COVENTRY CITY
Everton climbed to 7th position on the log with a narrow 1-0 victory away to Newcastle United on Monday. That result ended a three match winless league run and followed their 3-1 EFL Cup success against the same opponents.
The hosts have collected 13 points from nine fixtures, recording three victories, four draws and two defeats while scoring 9 goals and conceding 9. Before Monday’s victory Everton had suffered successive 2-0 defeats against Chelsea and Arsenal after sharing the points in a 2-2 draw at Hull City.
Coventry City returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-1 home victory over Sunderland last weekend. That result provided a response to consecutive defeats having lost 3-1 away to Tottenham before suffering a narrow 1-0 home defeat against Fulham.
The visitors occupy 16th position overall with 9 points from nine league matches. Three victories and six defeats have produced 9 goals scored although they have let 16 shots past the keeper. Despite that their recent results also include an impressive 4-1 victory over Newcastle and a 1-0 away success against Nottingham Forest.
Head-to-Head:
The teams most recent clash was a pre-season friendly in July 2024, which Coventry won 3-0.
There is no other meaningful head to head form to go on.

Coventry City 4.75
Verdict:
Everton’s successive victories over Newcastle give them some much needed confidence, particularly Monday’s clean sheet away from home. They now face a Coventry side that have conceded 16 goals in nine league fixtures and lost six of those matches.
Coventry’s victories over Newcastle and Sunderland show they can punish opponents, but their results remain inconsistent. Their recent head-to-head advantage also comes largely from meetings too distant to carry much weight here.
Everton have been the more consistent side across the opening nine matches and should approach this fixture with renewed energy. With home advantage behind them, I believe the hosts will collect another three points and I reckon they will do so while keeping a clean sheet.
Some betting options I am considering:
- Everton to win at 1.73
- Match result and over/under 3.5 goals, Everton and under at 2.60
- Match result and Both Teams to Score, Everton and NO at 3.25
- Correct Score 2-0 at 9.50
BET: Match result and Both Teams to Score, Everton and NO at 3.25
