CRYSTAL PALACE vs LIVERPOOL
Crystal Palace suffered a third consecutive league defeat when Tottenham beat them 2-0 last weekend. That result followed a 2-0 home loss against Newcastle United and a heavy 5-0 defeat away to Brighton, leaving Palace without a goal across those three outings.
The hosts occupy 18th position with 7 points from nine fixtures, having recorded two victories, one draw and six defeats. They have scored 9 goals and conceded 21, with their last victory coming in a 3-1 home success against Nottingham Forest.
Liverpool sit 5th on the log with 15 points after collecting four wins, three draws and two defeats. Their return of 11 goals netted and 9 shipped at the back leaves them looking for greater consistency as they attempt to stay within reach of the leading sides.
The Reds went down 1-0 at home to Arsenal last weekend, ending a run of consecutive league victories. They had previously beaten Brighton 2-0 at Anfield after securing a 2-1 success away to Brentford.
Head-to-Head:
Liverpool won the most recent meeting 3-1 at Anfield in April. However, Palace claimed a 2-1 home victory in last season’s reverse fixture and also recorded a 3-0 away success in the EFL Cup.
Earlier league encounters produced a 1-1 draw at Anfield in May 2025 and a narrow 1-0 Liverpool victory at Selhurst Park in October 2024.

Crystal Palace 5.50
Draw 4.50
Liverpool 1.61
Verdict:
Palace have conceded nine goals without reply across their last three league matches. Their recent record against Liverpool offers some encouragement but their current performances make this a difficult assignment.
Liverpool’s defeat against Arsenal interrupted an improved run, although victories over Brighton and Brentford showed they can deliver against competitive opposition. They have also won their last two away league fixtures, although they lost away in the Champions League in midweek.
The visitors look well placed to respond against a Palace side struggling at both ends of the pitch. I am backing Liverpool to collect all three points with more than two goals in the match.

SUNDERLAND vs CHELSEA
Sunderland remain bottom of the standings with 5 points from nine fixtures, having registered one victory, two draws and six defeats. They have managed just 7 goals while conceding 17, leaving them in need of an improvement at both ends.
A 3-1 defeat away to Coventry last weekend extended their winless run to seven matches in the EPL (they also lost at home on Thursday in the Europa League). Sunderland had previously drawn 0-0 at home to Leeds after successive 2-0 defeats against Bournemouth and Brighton.
Chelsea returned to winning ways with a 2-0 home victory over Manchester United last weekend. That result provided a response to their defeat by the same score against Tottenham with the Blues now having won three of their last four league fixtures.
The visitors occupy 4th position on the table with 16 points from nine matches. Their attack has produced 19 goals while they have allowed 15 at the other end.
Head-to-Head:
The last six meetings have produced three victories apiece without a draw. Sunderland completed the league double last season, winning 2-1 at Stamford Bridge before repeating that scoreline at home in May.
Chelsea’s previous travel ended in a 1-0 victory in December 2016. They also recorded 5-1 and 3-1 home wins across the six match sequence, while Sunderland claimed a 3-2 home success in May 2016.

Sunderland 3.75
Draw 3.75
Chelsea 2.00
Verdict:
Sunderland beat Chelsea twice last season, but their current form offers little promise. They have taken only one point from their last five league matches and failed to score in three of those outings.
Chelsea have shown greater quality going forward, scoring nine goals across their last four fixtures. Three clean sheets during that spell also suggest they can keep Sunderland’s limited attack under control.
The Blues arrive with the stronger form and enough attacking threat to make their advantage count. I am backing Chelsea to follow up their victory over Manchester United with another win.

MANCHESTER UNITED vs ASTON VILLA
Manchester United suffered a second successive league defeat when Chelsea beat them 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. That followed a 3-0 home loss against Bournemouth, leaving United without a victory in their last seven league appearances.
United currently possess 17th spot overall having collected just 7 points and they will need to turn their season around soon, with the side holding a -5 goal difference.
They will take confidence from a come from behind 3-2 home win over Roma in the Champions League in midweek.
Aston Villa sit 10th on the log with 12 points from nine matches. Three victories, three draws and three defeats have produced an uneven start although their recent results suggest they are moving in the right direction.
Villa extended their unbeaten EPL streak to five matches with a 1-1 home draw against Fulham last weekend. That followed victories over Manchester City and Newcastle United, with their earlier results including a 2-2 draw against Brentford and a 3-2 success away to Tottenham.
They lost 3-0 away to Barcelona in the Champions League in midweek.
Head-to-Head:
Manchester United have won four of the last six meetings, with one draw and one Aston Villa victory. United claimed a 3-1 home success in the most recent encounter after losing 2-1 at Villa Park earlier last season.
The hosts have won all three Old Trafford fixtures across that sequence with their other victories finishing 2-0 and 3-2. The remaining encounters produced a goalless draw at Villa Park and a 2-1 United win on the road.

Manchester United 2.25
Draw 3.75
Aston Villa 3.15
Verdict:
Villa’s victories over Manchester City, Newcastle and Tottenham show they can trouble strong opposition. They have scored in each of their last five league fixtures and won both away matches during that run.
United have the stronger recent head-to-head record but successive defeats without scoring leave them difficult to support, even given their heroics against Roma.
Their last home EPL appearance ended in a crushing loss to Bournemouth and at the available price, I am backing the visitors to win at Old Trafford.
BET: Aston Villa to win at 3.15
