The SA Premiership action continues on Tuesday the 12th of May with an important fixture which will have a direct impact on the title race. TS Galaxy welcome Mamelodi Sundowns in what promises to be an entertaining encounter, and we take a closer look at the clash from a betting angle below.
TS Galaxy vs Mamelodi Sundowns – click here to bet
Galaxy currently occupy 12th position on the table with 28 points from 28 matches. Their campaign has been difficult overall as they have managed just seven wins while scoring 27 goals and shipping 36.
TS Galaxy played out a 1-1 draw against Chippa United in their latest outing after another 1-1 stalemate away to Marumo Gallants while prior to that they were held to a goalless draw by Magesi. Before those results, they suffered a narrow 1-0 home defeat to Richards Bay and a 2-0 away loss against Kaizer Chiefs.
TS Galaxy have not won in their last 13 PSL matches taking just 4 points from a possible 39.
Mamelodi Sundowns sit at the summit of the standings with 68 points from 29 matches and this will be their final league game of the season as they have the CAF Champions League 1st leg on Friday. They need to win here and then hope that Pirates who are 3 points behind with 2 games to play, drop points.
They produced a thrilling 7-4 victory over Siwelele in their most recent match after sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs. Prior to that they secured back-to-back wins over Polokwane City, including a convincing 3-0 home triumph and a disciplined 1-0 away success.
Head-to-Head:
The reverse fixture earlier this season saw Sundown’s edge TS Galaxy 1-0 at home. However, TS Galaxy did claim a notable 2-0 win over Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup earlier this year, while the previous league meeting in Mbombela ended in a 1-0 victory for Galaxy.

Odds: TS Galaxy 9.00 | Draw 4.75 | Mamelodi Sundowns 1.40
Verdict:
Sundowns are worthy favourites and my only concern is they may have 1 eye on Fridays big match against AS FAR. Although TS Galaxy has shown they are capable of frustrating the Champions across their last few meetings their current form is a big concern and even if not firing on all cylinders I am expecting Sundowns to get the job done.
I am expecting Sundowns to dominate possession and create enough chances to secure the victory to keep the pressure on Pirates.
Although they played out an 11-goal thriller on Saturday I think they will have given up trying to improve goal difference and will settle for a more regulation victory.
Some betting angles I like here include

- Handicap 3 way – Galaxy +2 the draw at 4.75 (Sundowns to win by 2 goals exactly)
- Match result and both teams to score – Sundowns and NO at 2.05
