Their most recent test saw them meet with Kruger United on Tuesday where they came away with a 2-0 triumph on the road as slight favourites.
Stellenbosch are 11th on the log with 4 points after four matches played. They opened their campaign with a 1-0 home defeat to AmaZulu before producing an entertaining 3-3 draw away to Polokwane City.
Stellenbosch then claimed their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Marumo Gallants, but they were unable to build on that result as they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Golden Arrows last Wednesday.

The recent meetings between these sides have been extremely difficult to separate. Four of the last six encounters have ended in draws, with Durban City and Stellenbosch each recording one victory during that period.

With both sides having already produced several low-scoring results over the years, another closely fought contest could be on the cards.

Verdict:
Durban City have made the stronger start to the season and come into this fixture on the back of their first victory of the campaign. They have also conceded just two goals across their opening four matches, highlighting their defensive solidity.
Stellenbosch have shown greater attacking potential, scoring six goals so far but they have also conceded six and have already suffered two defeats. With little separating the sides in the betting market and four of their last six meetings ending level, I am expecting another tight encounter.

The side then suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Milford FC before settling for another loss last Tuesday, going down 2-0 at home to Durban City.
Orlando Pirates are top of the Premiership table with 10 points after four fixtures. The defending champions began their campaign with a comfortable 2-0 home victory over Milford before travelling to AmaZulu, where they were held to a 1-1 draw.
Pirates returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion with a 3-0 away victory over Chippa United before recording another clean sheet win last Tuesday, beating Sekhukhune United 2-0 at home.
Head-to-Head:
There are no previous competitive meetings between Kruger United and Orlando Pirates, meaning Tuesday’s encounter will be the first time the two sides have faced one another.

Verdict:
Kruger United have endured a difficult introduction to the big league, collecting just one point from their first four matches while scoring only two goals. They have also conceded seven times and are still searching for their first victory of the campaign.
Pirates, by contrast have made an excellent start to their title defence. They have won three of their matches, scored eight goals and conceded just one, with their last two victories both coming by without any trouble at the back.
The gulf in form and quality makes Orlando Pirates the clear favourites and their defensive record should give them plenty of confidence heading into this fixture. Kruger United have struggled to find the net, while Pirates have already shown they can control matches against opposition from the lower half of the table and I think they will pick up another win while keeping their opposition goalless.
