The SA Premier League action continues on Sunday the 6th of September with two fixtures on the programme. Golden Arrows take on Mamelodi Sundowns before Kaizer Chiefs face Siwelele. We take a look at both encounters from a betting angle.

SUNDAY:

Golden Arrows vs Mamelodi Sundowns – click here to bet

Golden Arrows are unbeaten after four league matches and occupy 7th position overall with 6 points. Their campaign began with three successive goalless draws against Chippa United, Durban City and TS Galaxy, highlighting the defensive discipline but also their lack of attacking flair.

Arrows finally converted that resilience into maximum points when they met with Stellenbosch in their latest Premiership encounter. A narrow 1-0 victory secured their first league win of the season and means they are yet to concede a single goal in the competition.

Mamelodi Sundowns sit 2nd on the table with 13 points after winning four and drawing one of their first five fixtures. They opened with a tight 3-2 victory away to TS Galaxy before earning a credible 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs.

Sundowns have since recorded three consecutive league victories on home soil. They defeated Marumo Gallants 2-0, produced an emphatic 5-2 triumph over AmaZulu and followed that performance with another 2-0 success against Milford FC on Wednesday. The Tshwane outfit have scored 13 goals across their five matches while conceding 5.

Head-to-Head:

Sundowns have won three of their last six clashes with Arrows claiming victory twice and one encounter ending level. They recently faced one another in the MTN 8 Cup semi-finals, where Golden Arrows earned a surprise 1-0 first-leg victory before Sundowns responded with a 3-2 win in the return fixture.

Their two league meetings last season also produced one victory apiece. Arrows secured a 1-0 home triumph before Sundowns won the second fixture 2-1 at Loftus.

Odds: Golden Arrows 4.75 | Draw 3.75 | Mamelodi Sundowns 1.80

Verdict:

Golden Arrows have been extremely difficult to break down in the Premiership, keeping four consecutive clean sheets and remaining unbeaten. Their recent Cup victory over Sundowns also demonstrates that they are capable of frustrating the title contenders particularly at home.

However, Sundowns responded strongly in the second leg of that semi-final and enter this encounter after three successive league victories. Their attacking quality has been evident throughout the campaign, with the side scoring at least twice in four of their five Premiership matches.

Arrows should provide another demanding test, but Sundowns possess considerably more firepower and have already shown that they can overcome them in the past. Their strong start to the league season makes an away victory my pick although I could see Arrows offering early resistance.

Bet: Mamelodi Sundowns to Win at 1.80

Kaizer Chiefs vs Siwelele – click here to bet

Kaizer Chiefs remain unbeaten across their 2026/27 league run and are 4th on the table with 8 points from four matches. They launched their campaign with a 3-1 away victory over Kruger United before returning home to defeat Sekhukhune United 2-0.

Their winning start was followed by a competitive 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns and Chiefs then travelled to Richards Bay for their latest league assignment where they shared the points following an entertaining 2-2 result.

Siwelele are still searching for their first victory of the season after collecting 2 points from four fixtures. They kicked off the season with a lively 2-2 home draw against TS Galaxy but were unable to build on that result during consecutive away assignments.

A 1-0 defeat at Milford FC was followed by a 2-0 loss against AmaZulu, leaving Siwelele without a goal across those two matches. They avoided a third straight defeat when they hosted Chippa United in their most recent outing, settling a 1-1 draw to move into 14th position on the table.

Head-to-Head:

Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele met twice in the Premiership last season. The first encounter ended in a goalless draw before Siwelele produced a 2-0 home victory in the reverse fixture as the dark horse in the betting markets.

Odds: Kaizer Chiefs 1.26 | Draw 6.25 | Siwelele 14.00

Verdict:

Chiefs have made an encouraging start to the campaign, combining victories in their opening two matches with draws against Sundowns and Richards Bay. Their eight goal return also shows greater attacking threat than Siwelele have displayed during the same period.

Siwelele earned points in both of their home fixtures but lost without scoring on each of their two away trips. That record raises concern ahead of a visit to a Chiefs side that has already defeated Sekhukhune and held Sundowns at home.

Last season’s head-to-head results offer Siwelele some encouragement, although the current form of the teams points firmly towards the hosts. I believe that Chiefs should control the encounter and have enough creativity up front to extend their unbeaten league start with another victory in a potentially high scoring matchup.

Bet: Match Result and over/under 2.5 goals, Chiefs and over at 3.15
