The South African Premier League continues on Sunday the 16th of August with two intriguing fixtures on the schedule.
Orlando Pirates travel to Chippa United looking to continue their dominance in this fixture, while TS Galaxy host Golden Arrows in what promises to be a closely contested encounter. We take a look at both matches from a betting angle below.

Chippa United have made a steady start to the new Premiership season and currently sit 9th on the log with 2 points after drawing both of their opening matches. They began their campaign with a 0-0 away draw against Golden Arrows.
Chippa followed that up with a 1-1 home draw against Richards Bay on Tuesday. They remained organised throughout the contest but have scored only one goal in their opening two fixtures, suggesting that creativity could be an issue this season.
Orlando Pirates have taken 4 points from their opening two league matches and hold 2nd on the table. The defending champions opened the season with a comfortable 2-0 home victory over Milford, controlling large periods of the match and showing their defensive quality.
Pirates were then held to a 1-1 draw away at AmaZulu on Wednesday. They created opportunities but were unable to turn their dominance into maximum points and will be eager to return to winning ways here.
Head-to-Head:
Orlando Pirates have completely dominated this fixture in recent seasons. They have won all 6 of the last 6 meetings against Chippa United, including 2-0 and 3-0 victories last season.
Odds: Chippa United 11.00 | Draw 5.25 | Orlando Pirates 1.33
Verdict:
Chippa have been difficult to break down early in the season, but Pirates possess far greater attacking quality and have consistently overcome Chippa. Given the head-to-head record and Pirates’ defensive strength there seems to be only one solid option here and that is why I am looking towards the exotic markets and backing Pirates to get this done without conceding.

TS Galaxy vs Golden Arrows – click here to bet
TS Galaxy have collected 1 point from their first two clashes and are in 11th place on the log. They started their 2026/27 run with an entertaining 2-2 away draw against Siwelele, showing attacking promise but also exposing defensive weaknesses.
Galaxy then suffered a narrow 3-2 home defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday. Despite losing, they impressed going forward and have already scored four goals in their opening two fixtures, although they have also conceded five.
Golden Arrows have taken 2 points from their opening two matches and sit 10th overall. They kicked things off with a goalless draw at home against Chippa United before playing out another 0-0 draw away to Durban City in midweek.
Arrows have looked extremely organised defensively but are still searching for their first goal of the season. Their matches have been tight and low scoring with neither side managing to find the breakthrough in either fixture and, they will need to build on their attacking flair to avoid dropping down the log.
Head-to-Head:
TS Galaxy have held the upper hand in this fixture in recent seasons. They have won 3 of the last 6 meetings, while Arrows have claimed victory once and the outstanding games have ended level.
Odds: TS Galaxy 2.80 | Draw 3.00 | Golden Arrows 2.90
Verdict:
Galaxy have looked the more dangerous attacking side despite their defensive issues while Arrows have built their early season around defensive organisation. The visitors may once again keep things tight but Galaxy’s stronger recent record in this fixture and home advantage make them slight favourites. Despite that I see this being a tense fixture where very few opportunities arise and I am backing the draw.
Bet: Draw at 3.00
