The South African PSL action continues on Thursday the 17th of September as Orlando Pirates welcome Durban City in a standalone fixture. We take a look at the encounter from a betting perspective below.

Orlando Pirates occupy 2nd position on the table after collecting 13 points from their opening five league fixtures. They began with a 2-0 home victory over Milford before drawing 1-1 away to AmaZulu.
Pirates have since recorded three consecutive victories, beating Chippa United 3-0, Sekhukhune United 2-0 and Kruger United 4-0 on the 1st of September. Notably they have scored 12 goals and conceded only once this season.
Durban City began their 2026/27 run with a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Sekhukhune United before drawing against Golden Arrows and Richards Bay.
Durban City then claimed their first victory by beating Kruger United 2-0 away from home and continued their unbeaten run with a goalless draw against Stellenbosch in their latest outing to leave them 9th on the log.

Orlando Pirates have won four of the previous six meetings between the sides, while Durban City have claimed one victory and one match resulted in a stalemate.
Pirates recorded a 2-1 victory when the teams met in the MTN8 in August, while their most recent league encounter finished goalless.

Verdict:
Orlando Pirates have made an excellent start to the campaign and enter the fixture following three consecutive victories. Their defence has been particularly impressive, keeping four clean sheets across their opening five matches.
Durban City have also proven difficult to beat and are unbeaten in their previous four league outings. However, they have scored only three goals so far and could struggle to create opportunities against the division’s strongest defence.
With home advantage and considerably greater attacking momentum, I believe Orlando Pirates should control the contest and secure another three points.
