The SA Premiership action continues across Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th of April with four key fixtures catching our eye. Stellenbosch host Sekhukhune United, while Orbit College welcome Golden Arrows and Orlando Pirates take on AmaZulu as they try to keep their title hopes alive. Saturdays final game sees Polokwane City host a resurgent Kaizer Chiefs.
We take a closer look at all three encounters from a betting angle below.
FRIDAY:
Stellenbosch FC vs Sekhukhune United – click here to bet
Stellenbosch sit 9th on the table with 28 points from 23 matches. They have recorded seven wins, seven draws and nine defeats, registering 20 goals while allowing 25 which highlights a side that has been competitive but inconsistent throughout the campaign.
Their recent form has been mixed. They were beaten 2-1 away to Richards Bay in their latest outing after edging Chippa United 2-1 at home, while prior to that they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Golden Arrows.
Sekhukhune occupy 5th position overall with 38 points from 24 matches. They have secured ten wins, eight draws and six defeats, producing 24 goals while conceding 17 to reflect a well-organised side that has been solid defensively.
Coming into this clash, Sekhukhune have shown resilience. They recorded a 1-0 victory over Magesi in their most recent match after playing out a 2-2 draw with AmaZulu, while before that they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Golden Arrows.
Head-to-Head:
The reverse fixture earlier this season saw Stellenbosch secure a 1-0 away win, while four of the last five encounters have produced tight scorelines.
Odds: Stellenbosch 2.50 | Draw 2.90 | Sekhukhune 3.50
Verdict:
This looks set to be a closely contested encounter between two evenly matched sides. Stellenbosch have enjoyed the better of the head-to-head record, but Sekhukhune’s defensive discipline could make them difficult to break down.
Bet: Draw at 2.90

SATURDAY:
Orbit College vs Golden Arrows – click here to bet
Orbit College are positioned 15th on the standings with 19 points from 24 fixtures. The side have claimed five wins, four draws and suffered fifteen defeats, finding the net 17 times while shipping 39, underlining their struggles at the back this season.
Their recent form has been poor. They played out a goalless draw with Marumo Gallants in their latest test after falling 3-1 to Kaizer Chiefs, while prior to that they were edged 1-0 by Siwelele.
Golden Arrows sit 8th on the table with 31 points from 24 matches. They have collected nine wins, four draws and settled for eleven defeats, scoring 29 goals while allowing 31 to breach their backline which suggests a side capable of competing but struggling for momentum.
They come into this fixture in decent form. Arrows secured a 1-0 victory over Durban City in their most recent outing after being heavily beaten 5-0 by Orlando Pirates, while before that they edged Sekhukhune 1-0 at home.
Head-to-Head:
Golden Arrows have dominated this matchup, winning both previous meetings against Orbit College, including a convincing 3-0 home victory earlier this season and a 3-0 triumph in the Nedbank Cup 2026.
Odds: Orbit College 2.80 | Draw 3.15 | Golden Arrows 2.80
Verdict:
Despite playing away, Golden Arrows appear to have the edge based on recent performances and their strong head-to-head record. Orbit’s defensive issues remain a concern, and I think they will have a tough time scoring and an away win looks on the cards.
Bet: Golden Arrows to Win at 2.80
Orlando Pirates vs AmaZulu – click here to bet
Orlando Pirates are 2nd on the table with 55 points from 24 matches. They have recorded seventeen wins, four draws and three defeats, producing 47 goals while conceding just 11, highlighting their dominance at both ends of the pitch.
They arrive in strong form. Pirates played out a 2-2 draw with Richards Bay in their latest outing after dismantling Golden Arrows 5-0, while prior to that they secured a commanding 6-0 victory over TS Galaxy.
AmaZulu occupy 4th position with 39 points from 24 games played. They have registered eleven wins, six draws and seven defeats, scoring 25 goals while allowing 22 past the keeper, reflecting a balanced and competitive lineup.
Their recent performances have been steady. They played out a 1-1 draw with Siwelele in their latest match after sharing the spoils 2-2 with Sekhukhune, while prior to that they picked up a 1-0 victory over Polokwane City.
Head-to-Head:
The reverse fixture earlier this season saw Pirates claim a 2-0 away victory. The teams also clashed twice last season where the first match was won 2-1 at home by Pirates and the second fixture ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Odds: Orlando Pirates 1.26 | Draw 5.75 | AmaZulu 14.00
Verdict:
Pirates come into this clash with a dominant head-to-head record but their confidence may have taken a knock with the points dropped against Richards Bay. AmaZulu as their log positions suggests, are capable of competing and I think at current prices Pirates are too short and the value is in opposing them.
Bet: Asian Handicap, AmaZulu +0.5 goals at 4.00
Polokwane v Kaizer Chiefs – click here to bet
Polokwane are 7th on the log but with only 1 win in their last 5 PSL matches and their last 5 home games have resulted in 3 draws and more recently 2 consecutive losses.
Chiefs are 3rd on the table and have bounced back from a mid-season slump to win 5 on the trot including a 4-1 away win over Magesi in midweek. They have won 3 of their last 4 on the road and have only lost once away from home all season.
Head-to-Head:
Chiefs won the reverse fixture 1-0 but Polokwane won this fixture 2-0 last season. The last 5 head to heads have delivered profits for under 2.5 goal backers and have seen no more than 1 team find the net.
Odds: Polokwane 3.75 | Draw 2.90 | Chiefs 2.35
Verdict
Based on current form the Chiefs price looks big.
Bet: Kaizer Chiefs win at 2.35
