MANCHESTER UNITED vs BRENTFORD
Manchester United sit 3rd on the table with 58 points from 33 matches and remain firmly in the driving seat for a top-four finish with a game in hand over Liverpool and Aston Villa who are also on 58 points. They have recorded sixteen wins, ten draws and seven defeats, scoring 58 goals while conceding 45. Manchester United home games have averaged 3.1 goals each with 50% of their matches going over 2.5 goals.
Their recent form has been mixed. They come into this clash off a solid 1-0 away win at Chelsea, but prior to that suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Leeds and were held to a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth. They did beat Aston Villa 3-1 at home, though a 2-1 loss away to Newcastle highlights their recent inconsistency.
Brentford occupy 9th position with 48 points from 33 matches and have had a steady campaign. They have managed thirteen wins, nine draws and eleven defeats, scoring 48 goals and conceding 44. Only 7 of the 16 Brentford away matches would have seen over 2.5 goal backers win their bets.
Their recent form is remarkable for its consistency, albeit not in wins. Brentford have drawn their last five league matches, including a 0-0 at home to Fulham, a 2-2 draw with Everton and stalemates against Leeds and Bournemouth. They are proving extremely difficult to beat but have struggled to turn draws into wins.
Head-to-Head
Recent meetings between these sides have been competitive and often entertaining.
Brentford have had success in recent encounters, including a 3-1 home win earlier this season and a 4-3 home victory last season. United have won the last two meetings at Old Trafford 2-1, and they have won 4 in a row on home turf.
These fixtures have regularly produced goals, with several high-scoring encounters in recent seasons and both teams have found the back of the net in the last 5 meetings.

Verdict
Manchester United come into this clash as deserved favourites given their league position and home advantage. They have shown they can produce big performances, particularly against stronger opposition, as evidenced by their recent win at Chelsea.
Brentford, however, are on a notable unbeaten run, albeit dominated by draws. Their defensive resilience and ability to stay in games makes them a tricky opponent, and they have shown in recent head-to-heads that they can trouble United.
While United should have enough quality to edge this, Brentford’s stubborn nature means this is unlikely to be straightforward. Expect a competitive encounter with chances at both ends.
