Leeds United
Leeds are currently 11th on the table after recording one victory and two draws from their opening three matches.
They began their campaign with a 1-0 away victory over Nottingham Forest before drawing 1-1 away to Brighton and 1-1 at home to Brentford.
All three of Leeds’ matches this season have rewarded under 2.5-goal backers.
Newcastle United
Newcastle sit just above Leeds in tenth place on goal difference, having also collected five points from the opening nine available.
They began with a 2-2 home draw against Liverpool before recording an impressive 2-0 victory away to Tottenham.
Newcastle then played out an entertaining 2-2 home draw with Bournemouth. They found themselves two goals behind but fought back strongly, eventually scoring the equaliser in the 88th minute.
Head-to-Head
Newcastle beat Leeds 4-3 at home last season, while the corresponding fixture at Leeds finished goalless.
Before last season, the teams had not met since the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.

Verdict
This is an interesting contest featuring a contrast in styles. Leeds have been involved in low-scoring matches so far, while the goals have tended to flow in Newcastle’s games.
There should not be much separating these teams, and the draw looks to be a big runner at the current odds. I considered a few different ways of backing that outcome, while also favouring a low scoring game:
- Draw at 3.50
- Match result and total goals: Draw and under 2.5 goals at 4.50
- Correct score: Leeds United 1-1 Newcastle United at 7.00
- Match result and both teams to score: Draw and Yes at 4.50
In the end, I am keeping things simple and backing the teams to share the points.
