IPSWICH vs LIVERPOOL
Newcomers Ipswich began their 2026/27 campaign with an impressive 2-1 home victory over Sunderland on the 22nd of August. They were unable to build on that result when they travelled to Manchester United for their second league fixture.
Despite taking the lead and finding the back of the net twice, they suffered a heavy 5-2 defeat and are currently in 12th position on the overall standings.
Liverpool sit 13th on the table with 2 points after drawing both of their opening league encounters. They began their campaign away to Newcastle United on the 23rd of August, where they played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
The Reds recorded the same scoreline when they welcomed Nottingham Forest to Anfield in their latest fixture on Saturday and where they had to come from behind twice to salvage a draw.
Head-to-Head:
Liverpool have won five of the last six meetings between the sides, with the remaining game ending in a draw. Liverpool completed a league double over Ipswich during the 2024/25 campaign, winning 2-0 at Portman Road before recording a convincing 4-1 victory in the return fixture at Anfield.
Four of the last six meetings produced over 2.5 goals, while Liverpool scored at least twice in five of those encounters.

Ipswich Town 5.50
Draw 4.75
Liverpool 1.56
Verdict:
Ipswich will be encouraged by their opening home victory over Sunderland, but their defensive weaknesses were exposed when they conceded multiple goals against Manchester United.
Liverpool are still winless, although their attacking performances suggest they have the quality to trouble an Ipswich side that has already conceded six goals.
The Reds have dominated this fixture historically and should create enough opportunities to secure all three points. However, their defensive struggles mean Ipswich could also find the net in what should be an entertaining encounter.
