We take a look at three of the English Premier League matches taking place on Sunday and suggest a bet in each game.

Chelsea v Brighton
Chelsea started as close to even-money favourites in their opening match away to Fulham and came away with the three points following an entertaining 3-2 victory.
Pedro Álvaro gave Chelsea the perfect start by opening the scoring in the first minute, although Fulham responded with an equaliser. Morgan Rogers restored Chelsea’s lead before halftime, and Cole Palmer gave them a two-goal advantage shortly before the 50th minute.
Fulham pulled another goal back, leaving Chelsea relieved to hold on and secure the victory.
Brighton made a brilliant start to their campaign with a commanding 4-0 home win over Aston Villa in a match where they started at 2.10.
All four goals had been scored by the 31st minute, with Jack Hinshelwood finding the back of the net twice.
Head-to-Head
Brighton completed the league double over Chelsea last season, winning 3-0 at home and 3-1 on the road.
They have now won their last four matches against Chelsea across all competitions.

Verdict
It is no surprise to see over 2.5 goals trading at a relatively short price of 1.61, and I expect plenty of goalmouth action in this encounter.
Brighton’s excellent recent record against Chelsea and impressive opening performance cannot be ignored. At the current odds, I am backing the visitors to earn a point.

Sunderland v Fulham
Sunderland started as slight favourites away to Ipswich on the opening weekend but suffered a 2-1 defeat.
They fell behind in the 24th minute before Nilson Angulo equalised in the 39th. Sunderland looked set to come away with a point but conceded the winning goal in the 90th minute.
Fulham gave a good account of themselves at home to Chelsea but ultimately went down 3-2.
They came from behind twice through goals from Joshua King and Gonzalo García but could not find another response after Chelsea took the lead for the third time.
Head-to-Head
Fulham completed the league double over Sunderland last season, winning 3-1 on the road and 1-0 at home.
They are unbeaten in their last five matches against Sunderland across all competitions, although that record dates back to the 2017/18 Championship season.

Verdict
This looks like a difficult match to call, and the draw is certainly a big runner.
Fulham were the more impressive of the two teams on the opening weekend, however, and I think they can collect three valuable points on the road.

Manchester United v Ipswich
Manchester United’s campaign got off to a terrible start as they suffered a 2-0 away defeat to Hull in a match where they started as 1.35 favourites.
United conceded twice in the first half, and their supporters will have been particularly disappointed that the team failed to find the back of the net.
They will be under significant pressure to produce a much stronger performance and secure a victory in their first match of the season at Old Trafford.
Ipswich began their campaign with a 2-1 home victory over Sunderland. Emerson scored the opening goal in the 24th minute before Jack Clarke secured all three points with a 90th-minute winner.
Head-to-Head
The sides last met in the Premier League during the 2024/25 season.
Manchester United recorded a 3-2 home victory, while the reverse fixture at Ipswich finished in a 1-1 draw.

Verdict
I am expecting a much stronger performance from Manchester United in front of their home supporters.
While I do not expect them to run away with the match, they should have enough quality to secure the victory. After failing to score in their opening game, Ipswich may also find it difficult to break United down at Old Trafford.
