Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace made a slow start to the new English Premier League season, losing 2-0 away to Everton in their opening match.
They kept things tight until Everton took the lead shortly before halftime. The hosts added a second early in the second half, and Palace were unable to find a way back into the contest.
Palace played several friendly matches in preparation for the new season, with their final two warm-up games producing a 3-0 defeat to Freiburg and a 2-1 victory over Fulham.
Manchester City
Manchester City sit seventh on the table in the early stages of the season after opening their campaign with a 2-1 home victory over Bournemouth.
City started that match as 1.45 favourites but fell behind to a 26th-minute Bournemouth goal. They had to wait until the 84th minute to equalise before scoring the winner in the 91st minute.
Their previous competitive action came in the Community Shield in Wales, where they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal.
Head-to-Head
Manchester City dominated both meetings with Crystal Palace last season, winning each match 3-0.
There have been plenty of goals in recent English Premier League encounters between these sides, with each of the last six meetings rewarding over 2.5-goal backers.
Before last season’s two matches, the previous four meetings had each produced at least four goals.

Verdict
Neither side impressed in its opening match, but Manchester City should prove too strong for Crystal Palace.
Although City won both meetings to nil last season, I think Palace are capable of contributing to the scoring. Given the recent goalscoring trend in this fixture, I am backing Manchester City to win a match that produces at least three goals.
