We look at two of the English Premier League matches taking place on Wednesday the 22nd of April and suggest a bet in each game.

Bournemouth sit 8th on the table with 48 points after 33 matches and have been one of the more consistent performers this season. They have recorded eleven wins, fifteen draws and seven defeats while holding an even goals difference at 50 apiece.
Their recent form has been impressive. They secured a 2-1 away win over Newcastle in their most recent trip to the pitch after claiming a 2-1 victory against Arsenal, while prior to that they played out a 2-2 draw at home against Manchester United.
Leeds find themselves 15th overall on 39 points from 33 fixtures and remain in the lower half of the standings. They have managed nine wins, twelve draws and twelve defeats, scoring 42 goals while conceding 49.
Their recent performances have improved. They recorded a convincing 3-0 win over Wolves last time out after a strong 2-1 victory away over Manchester United, before that they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Brentford.
Head-to-Head
Leeds have historically dominated this fixture, winning the majority of recent meetings, although the reverse fixture earlier this season ended in a 2-2 draw.

Verdict
Both sides come into this clash in good form, particularly in attack. Bournemouth have been difficult to beat while Leeds have found momentum in recent weeks. This points towards an open contest with chances at both ends. I am expecting Bournemouth to win a thriller

Burnley vs Manchester City
Burnley are 19th in the rankings with 20 points from 33 appearances and have struggled throughout their campaign. They have recorded just four wins while conceding heavily with 67 goals against them and only 34 netted. They are trading at 2.50 to finish last.
Their recent run has been poor. They suffered a 4-1 defeat away to Nottingham Forest in their latest fixture after losing 2-0 at home to Brighton and prior to that they were beaten 3-1 by Fulham.
Manchester City sit 2nd on the table on 67 points from 32 games and are now in control of the title race. They have been dominant going forward with 65 goals scored while maintaining a strong defensive record of 29 against them.
Their recent form has been solid. They secured a 2-1 win over Arsenal last time out after a convincing 3-0 victory away against Chelsea while before that they played out a 1-1 draw against West Ham. Notably the side have gone ten EPL games in a row without being beaten.

Manchester City have completely dominated this fixture in recent years, winning the vast majority of encounters including a 5-1 victory earlier this season as well as 3-0 and 3-1 scorelines when they met during the 2023/24 campaign.

Verdict
The gulf in quality between these two sides is significant. Burnley have struggled defensively all season while City continue to perform at a high level both home and away and appear to be peaking at the right time. This should be a comfortable outing for the visitors and based on previous meetings goals are certainly on the cards.
