The 3M Open 2026 Betting Preview

All four majors are now firmly behind us for the 2026 season, and the PGA Tour turns its attention to the final stretch of the FedEx Cup regular season with the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities. In this preview we select 4 players to take on the bookmakers.

There is plenty at stake for players scrapping to move up the standings and secure their place in the playoffs, and this week offers a great opportunity for those on the bubble to grab some big FedEx Cup points. The field, as always at the 3M Open, is missing some of the very biggest names in the game, but world number one Scottie Scheffler is teeing it up, which immediately raises the profile of the tournament. It should be an entertaining week of golf up in Minnesota.

Course

TPC Twin Cities is a classic modern PGA Tour venue: a par 71 with plenty of water in play across the layout and generously wide fairways that reward aggressive golf off the tee. Recent winning scores have been very low, with -23, -17, -24, -17 and -15 in the last five editions all making for a proper birdie-fest. That means players who can go low with the driver and take advantage of the shorter par 5s tend to thrive.

More important than length off the tee, however, are two specific stats we like to lean on this week: Greens in Regulation and Strokes Gained: Approach. TPC Twin Cities rewards elite ball-striking and precision iron play more than almost any other venue on the tour, and players who consistently hit greens and give themselves plenty of birdie chances typically find themselves near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday. The greens are receptive too, so once you are on the dance floor there are plenty of makes to be had and the key really is giving yourself as many looks as possible.

Past Winners

2025     Kurt Kitayama (United States)                  -23         1 stroke

2024     Jhonattan Vegas (United States)             -17         1 stroke

2023     Lee Hodges (United States)                       -24         7 strokes

2022      Tony Finau (Unites States)                          -17         3 strokes

2021     Cameron Champ (United States)           -15         2 strokes

As is often the case at the 3M Open, the field is missing a number of the very biggest names in the game and there is no Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm or Xander Schauffele in Minnesota this week. That said, world number one Scottie Scheffler is teeing it up and heads the market at 3.50 as the clear favourite. Defending champion Kurt Kitayama is next in at 23.00, followed by Maverick McNealy at 26.00 and the duo of Hideki Matsuyama and Tom Kim who share fourth billing at 31.00. Jackson Koivun and Keith Mitchell round out the top of the boards at 36.00.

Scheffler is rightly the market leader but may be carrying some disappointment from failing to truly

SELECTIONS:

Tom Kim at 31.00

Our first pick of the week is Tom Kim. He is returning from a disappointing missed cut at the Open, but coming back to a more familiar style of golf that he is used to should suit him nicely. Kim was on a superb run going into the Open, finishing 15th at the RBC Canadian Open, 3rd at the US Open and winning the Scottish Open, all within the space of a month. Kim’s strengths are his approach shots and his scrambling, where he is ranked 5th on the PGA Tour this season for both. If he can bounce back from the disappointment of last week, we think we could see some really solid golf from him this week at a course that should reward his exact skill set.

Suggested bet: Tom Kim each way at 31.00

Casey Jarvis at 67.00

Our next pick of the week is South African Casey Jarvis. Jarvis is heading to the States off the back of a brilliant finish at the Open last weekend, where he came in at six under to finish the tournament in 6th place. That came after a solid effort at the Scottish Open the week before, where he secured a top 25 to finish in 21st place. This will be his first time playing the 3M Open, and we think we can expect some exciting stuff from him this week.

Suggested bet: Casey Jarvis each way at 67.00

Kurt Kitayama at 23.00

Our next pick is Kurt Kitayama, the defending champion having won the tournament last year. Kitayama also had an impressive finish at the 3M Open back in 2024, when he was able to finish in 6th place. He has been playing decently over the last few weeks, with two top 25s and no missed cuts in his last five tournaments, but is yet to produce that real touch of magic. We think returning to a tournament where he has seen plenty of success before could be exactly the catalyst he needs, and we might well see something big from him this week.

Suggested bet: Kurt Kitayama each way at 23.00

Our 4th and final selection will be at long odds and will be posted on Thursday morning.
