There is some mid-week English Premier League action for punters to get stuck into and we take a look at the clash between Manchester United and Leeds from a betting angle.

Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting where Arsenal remain favourites to win the Title at 8/13 with Manchester City at 17/10.  Manchester United have shortened from 50/1 to 14/1 and you can get 90/1 Newcastle and 300/1 and better the balance.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United are currently 3rd on the log and are coming off a 2-1 home win over Crystal Palace.  Prior to that they had gone down 3-2 on the road to Arsenal.  A closer look at their home record shows they have won 8 and drawn 1 of their 10 games at Old Trafford and they have only conceded 6 goals in these 10 matches, 70% of which would have delivered you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals.

LEEDS UNITED

Leeds are currently 17th on the log and without a win in their last 7 matches.  They went down 1-0 at Nottingham in their last start and away from home this season they have only won once in 10 attempts with 2 draws and 7 losses.  They have only taken 1 point from the last 12 they have played for on the road.

Looking at Leeds home games from a goal perspective, 6 of the 10 matches have reached the 3 goal mark and Leeds conceded an average of 2 goals a game on the road.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Looking at the head-to-head record of these teams, there were goals galore in last year’s matches with Manchester United winning 4-2 at Leeds and beating them 5-1 at home.  The previous year at Old Trafford, Manchester United won 6-2.

Manchester United 5/10

Draw 11/2

Leeds 15/4

Suggested Bet:  Handicap, Manchester United -1 at 12/10

For this bet to arrive we need Manchester United to win by at least 2 goals and given their current form and home record this season I make it a confident pick, throwing in the fact this bet would have arrived comfortably in both the last two meetings at Old Trafford and this looks a really solid 12/10 shot.

Suggested Bet: Manchester United Over 2.5 goals at 29/20

Looking at the goals markets and over 2.5 goals is priced at 6/10 with over 3.5 at 15/10, I am tempted by this, but as I have identified this game has been a comfortable game for Manchester United.  I prefer Manchester United, Over 2.5 goals at 29/20
