The fourth round of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League gets underway on Tuesday the 3rd of November with another selection of entertaining fixtures on the schedule. Three in particular stand out for us and Atletico Madrid welcome Bayern Munich to Spain, Barcelona host Aston Villa and Manchester United face AS Roma at Old Trafford. We take a closer look at all three encounters from a betting perspective below.

Atletico Madrid earned their first away point of the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Stuttgart in their latest appearance. The Spanish side found the net in the 47th minute to equalise, leaving them with one victory, one draw and one defeat from their opening three fixtures.
That result followed a 2-0 home victory over Manchester United, which provided a response to their opening 2-1 defeat away to Liverpool. Atletico occupy 16th position overall with 4 points, having scored 4 goals and conceded 3.
Bayern Munich were held to a second consecutive draw when Arsenal fought back to secure a 2-2 result in Germany last time out. Bayern scored twice against a side that had kept clean sheets in both previous fixtures, although conceding another two goals meant they again failed to turn their attacking return into maximum points.
Their previous outing brought a 3-3 draw away to Viking after opening with a commanding 5-0 home victory over Bodo/Glimt. Bayern remain unbeaten in 14th position with 5 points, having netted 10 goals while letting 5 in at the back.
Head-to-Head
Bayern Munich have won three of the last six meetings between these clubs, with Atletico Madrid claiming two victories and one encounter ending level.
Their most recent clashes came during the 2020/21 Champions League group stage. Bayern recorded a 4-0 home victory before the return fixture in Madrid finished 1-1. Atletico are unbeaten across their three home meetings in that six match sequence, winning twice.
Match Odds (1X2)
Atletico Madrid: 2.70
Draw: 4.00
Bayern Munich: 2.45
Verdict
Bayern have scored freely but conceding five goals across their last two fixtures has cost them valuable points. Atletico were convincing against Manchester United in their only home appearance and have a strong home record in this matchup. With the visitors still searching for greater defensive consistency, I am backing Atletico to take advantage and claim a narrow victory.

Barcelona vs Aston Villa – Click here to bet
Barcelona occupy 8th spot on the table with 6 points from their opening three fixtures, having scored 11 goals and conceded 6. They began with a convincing 5-1 home victory over Feyenoord before winning 4-1 away to Galatasaray.
Their perfect start ended with a 4-2 defeat away to PSG last time out. Although Barcelona maintained their scoring form with two goals in Paris, conceding four exposed defensive weaknesses.
Aston Villa maintained their perfect start with a 3-1 home victory over Viking in their latest fixture. Villa scored three times for the third successive European appearance, building on their impressive attacking form to secure another three points.
The English side sit 2nd with 9 points and head into this fixture holding a goal difference of +9. Their campaign began with a 3-2 victory away to Club Brugge before a comprehensive 6-0 home win over Fenerbahce.
Head-to-Head
Barcelona have won two of the four previous meetings between these clubs, with Aston Villa claiming one victory and the other encounter finishing level.
Their most recent encounters came in the 1982 UEFA Super Cup, played in January 1983. Barcelona won the first leg 1-0 at home before Villa overturned the deficit with a 3-0 victory after extra time in the return fixture to lift the trophy.
Match Odds (1X2)
Barcelona: 1.26
Draw: 7.50
Aston Villa: 9.50
Verdict
Villa’s three victories and 12 goals suggest they can make this a demanding evening for Barcelona. However, the hosts have also been productive in attack, and their opening home appearance delivered a convincing victory over Feyenoord. Barcelona need a response after their defeat in Paris, and I expect their attacking quality and home advantage to help them end Villa’s winning start after a high scoring affair.

Manchester United vs AS Roma – Click here to bet
Manchester United suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat away to Como in their latest appearance, leaving them with consecutive losses in the competition. United scored their first away goal of the campaign but conceded four times, a disappointing return that leaves them needing a response at Old Trafford.
That result followed a 2-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid after opening with a comfortable 4-0 home victory over Sabah which leaves United in 20th overall with 3 points, having scored 5 goals and conceded 6.
AS Roma claimed their first victory of the league phase with a commanding 4-0 home success over Slovan Bratislava last time out. It was their strongest result of the campaign, combining four goals with their first clean sheet to move onto 4 points and put them 15th on the log.
Prior to that Roma had lost 4-3 at home to Real Madrid after beginning with a 1-1 draw away to Fenerbahce.
Head-to-Head
These clubs most recently met in the 2020/21 Europa League semi-finals. Manchester United won the first leg 6-2 at Old Trafford before Roma secured a 3-2 victory in the return fixture with United advancing 8-5 on aggregate.
United also won both meetings in the 2007/08 Champions League quarter-finals, recording a 2-0 away victory before completing the tie with a 1-0 home success.
Match Odds (1X2)
Manchester United: 2.40
Draw: 4.00
AS Roma: 2.75
Verdict
United’s return home offers some encouragement but their defeat to Como leaves serious questions about their defence and they are also battling in the EPL. Roma arrive after a convincing victory and have scored seven goals across their last two fixtures, suggesting they have the attacking threat to trouble the hosts. With United struggling to build on their opening win, I am backing Roma to leave Old Trafford with all three points, adding further pressure onto management.
BET: AS Roma to Win at 2.75
