We take a closer look at three English Premier League matches taking place on Saturday and suggest a bet in each encounter.
Everton v Chelsea
Everton are fifth on the log and remain unbeaten after their opening six matches.
Four of their last five games have ended in draws, including a 2-2 away result against Hull City last time out. Their most recent home fixture produced a 1-0 victory over Ipswich.
Chelsea sit one position behind Everton, having recorded three victories, two defeats and one draw from their opening six league matches.
They returned to winning ways with an emphatic 5-1 home victory over Bournemouth last time out. That result followed a three-match spell in which they collected only one point.
Head-to-Head
Everton won this fixture 3-0 last season, while Chelsea had earlier recorded a 2-0 victory at home.
Everton are unbeaten in their last three home league meetings with Chelsea, winning twice and drawing once.

Everton 3.25
Draw 3.75
Chelsea 2.20
Verdict
Everton have enjoyed the better of their recent home meetings with Chelsea and have proved difficult to beat this season.
Chelsea’s convincing victory over Bournemouth suggests they are back on track, but this should be a much tougher assignment. With Everton having drawn four of their last five matches, I expect another closely fought contest and am backing the points to be shared.
BET: Draw at 3.75
Brentford v Liverpool
Brentford are fourth on the log and remain unbeaten after six league matches.
Four of their last five fixtures have ended in score draws, including a 2-2 away result against Aston Villa last time out.
Their most recent home game was an impressive 3-0 victory over Chelsea in the middle of September.
Liverpool occupy ninth position and suffered their first league defeat of the season in their latest domestic outing, losing 3-0 at home to Manchester City.
In their three away league matches this season, Liverpool have scored five goals and conceded two.
The Reds responded to that Manchester City defeat with a remarkable 6-3 victory in European competition during the week.
Head-to-Head
Brentford won this fixture 3-2 last season, while the reverse encounter at Anfield finished 1-1.

Brentford 2.40
Draw 3.75
Liverpool 2.90
Verdict
Liverpool will be looking to carry the attacking momentum from their midweek victory into this encounter, although conceding three goals in that game suggests there are still defensive concerns.
Brentford have also been involved in several open contests, most recently sharing four goals with Aston Villa. With the hosts capable of contributing and Liverpool arriving on the back of a six-goal performance, I am expecting an entertaining game.
Rather than trying to separate the sides, I am backing four goals or more.

Newcastle United v Aston Villa
Newcastle are 11th on the log and come into this match following a disappointing 4-1 away defeat to Coventry on Monday night.
Their home record has been more encouraging, with one victory and two draws from three league matches.
Both teams have scored in Newcastle’s last four games.
Aston Villa are down in 16th position, having won only one of their opening six league matches.
Their latest outing ended in a 2-2 home draw against Brentford. Before that, they secured their first league victory of the campaign with a 3-2 away win over Tottenham.
Both teams have found the net in Villa’s last three games.
Head-to-Head
The sides most recently met in the FA Cup earlier this year, with Newcastle recording a 3-1 away victory.
In the Premier League last season, Aston Villa won 2-0 at Newcastle, while the reverse fixture finished goalless.

Newcastle United 2.30
Draw 3.75
Aston Villa 3.00
Verdict
Last season’s league meetings were low-scoring, but the teams’ recent results point towards a more open encounter this time.
Newcastle conceded four goals on Monday, while Villa’s last two league matches produced five and four goals respectively. Both sides have been finding the net regularly but have struggled to keep their opponents out.
I am steering clear of the match result and backing four goals or more to be scored.
