The MTN8 Cup semi-finals conclude this weekend with the second legs, and we take a closer look at both matches from a betting angle.
Orlando Pirates v Sekhukhune United
Orlando Pirates booked their place in the semi-finals with a 2-1 home victory over Durban City after extra time before recording a 1-0 away win against Sekhukhune United in the first leg.
It was a tight contest, with Pirates breaking the deadlock in the 43rd minute and holding on to take a narrow advantage into the return fixture.
Remarkably, this will be the third meeting between the teams in the space of a week. Pirates also hosted Sekhukhune in the PSL on Tuesday night and recorded a 2-0 victory.
Sekhukhune reached the semi-finals by beating AmaZulu 4-3 after extra time in their quarter-final. They have since suffered consecutive defeats against Pirates, losing 1-0 at home in the first leg and 2-0 away in Tuesday’s league encounter.
Head-to-Head
Each of the last five meetings between the sides has rewarded under 2.5-goal backers.
Orlando Pirates have also kept clean sheets in their last three matches against Sekhukhune United.

Verdict
Orlando Pirates have looked rock solid defensively this season. There was not much separating the teams in the first leg, but Pirates should be able to use their home advantage to finish the job.
Given the recent head-to-head record and Pirates’ run of clean sheets against Sekhukhune, I am looking to back the hosts to win without conceding.

Golden Arrows v Mamelodi Sundowns
Golden Arrows caused a major upset in last week’s first leg when they beat Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 away from home, having started the match as 6.60 outsiders.
Arrows booked their place in the semi-finals with a 1-0 away victory over Kaizer Chiefs. They carried their good form into the PSL in midweek, recording another 1-0 win at home against Stellenbosch.
Before suffering last week’s first-leg defeat, Sundowns had beaten Polokwane City 3-2 after extra time to secure their place in the final four.
They produced an excellent performance in midweek, beating a strong AmaZulu side 5-2 at home in the league.
Head-to-Head
Before last week’s defeat, Sundowns had beaten Golden Arrows 2-1 at home in the league, while Arrows won the reverse fixture 1-0.
Golden Arrows have now lost only one of their last four meetings with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mamelodi Sundowns 1.80
Verdict
Golden Arrows will fight hard to protect their first-leg advantage, and I can see them keeping things tight for long periods.
Ultimately, however, Sundowns should have too much quality. They can carry their impressive midweek form into this match, secure the victory and most likely book their place in the final.
BET: Mamelodi Sundowns to Win at 1.80
