We look at the standalone English Premier League fixture taking place on Monday the 20th of April between Crystal Palace and West Ham with the latter desperate for a win to give them some breathing room from the relegation zone.
Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting where Manchester City are now the 1.65 favourites to win the EPL followed by Arsenal now priced at 2.20. There has been a dramatic betting shift in recent weeks after Arsenal looked to be coasting to the title. They still sit top of the log 3 points ahead of City who beat them 2-1 on Sunday and have a game in hand.

CRYSTAL PALACE vs WEST HAM
Crystal Palace occupy 13th position on the table with 42 points from 31 matches and have produced a fairly balanced campaign. They have recorded eleven wins, nine draws and faced eleven defeats while scoring 35 goals and conceding 36, highlighting a side that has been competitive but not always clinical.
Their recent form has been encouraging. They secured a 2-1 home victory over Newcastle in their latest outing, while prior to that they played out a goalless draw with Leeds and comfortably beat Tottenham 3-1 on the road. Their only recent setback came in a narrow 2-1 defeat away to Manchester United in the beginning of last month.
West Ham sit 17th on the table with 32 points from 32 fixtures and remain under pressure in the relegation battle. They have managed eight wins, eight draws and suffered sixteen defeats, producing 40 goals while allowing 57 past their backline which reflects ongoing defensive vulnerabilities.
Their recent performances have been inconsistent. They come into this clash after a convincing 4-0 home victory over Wolves but had previously suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Aston Villa and before that they held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw and secured a 1-0 away win at Fulham.
Head-to-Head
Meetings between the sides have generally been closely contested. Crystal Palace have had the upper hand in recent Premier League encounters, including a 2-1 away win earlier this season and a 2-0 victory in January 2025, while West Ham did claim a 2-0 win in August 2024.

Verdict
Crystal Palace come into this fixture in stronger overall form and have shown consistency both at home and on the road in recent weeks. Their ability to find goals combined with a relatively solid defensive structure gives them a slight edge.
West Ham have shown flashes of quality but remain unstable, particularly at the back where they have conceded heavily throughout the campaign. While they are capable of producing moments of class, their defensive frailties could be exposed against an in form, Palace side.
Some betting angles I like in this one include:
- Crystal Palace to Win at 2.50
- Over 2.5 goals at 1.80
- Match Result and over/under 2.5 goals, Palace and over at 3.85
- Correct Score 3-1 at 22.00
BET: Crystal Palace to Win at 2.50
