We look at two of the English Premier League matches taking place on Saturday the 18th of April and suggest a bet in each game.
Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting where Arsenal remain favourites at 1.60, followed by Man City at 2.20. Arsenal were almost unbackable prior to the Bournemouth defeat, but it now looks like we have a proper title race on our hands.

SATURDAY:
BRENTFORD vs FULHAM
Brentford sit 7th on the table with 47 points after 32 matches and have been competitive throughout the campaign. They have recorded thirteen wins, eight draws and eleven defeats while scoring 48 goals and conceding 44.
Their recent form has been steady but unspectacular. They played out a 2-2 draw with Everton in their latest outing after a goalless stalemate away to Leeds while prior to that they shared another 2-2 result with Wolves.
Fulham occupy 12th position overall on 44 points from 32 fixtures and have shown flashes of quality this season. They have managed thirteen wins and five draws but suffered fourteen defeats, producing 43 goals while allowing 46 past the keeper.
Their recent performances have been inconsistent. They were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool last time out after securing a 3-1 home win over Burnley while before that they played out a 0-0 draw away to Nottingham Forest.
Head-to-Head
Fulham have had the upper hand in recent meetings, winning the last three league encounters including a 3-1 victory earlier this season and a 3-2 success away from home last campaign. Brentford did record a 3-0 win in 2023, but overall Fulham have edged this fixture.

CHELSEA vs MANCHESTER UNITED
Chelsea find themselves 6th in the rankings with 48 points from 32 games played. Their campaign has been competitive with 53 goals scored and 41 conceded, showing attacking strength but defensive vulnerability.
Their recent run has been poor. They suffered a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in their latest fixture after losing 3-0 away to Everton. While prior to that they were beaten 1-0 at home by Newcastle.
Manchester United sit 3rd on the table with 55 points from 32 matches and remain in contention for a top three finish. They have registered 57 goals while slipping 45, indicating a side that can be effective in attack but not always dominant defensively.
United’s recent form has been mixed. They were beaten 2-1 at home by Leeds in their last trip to the pitch after drawing 2-2 away to Bournemouth, although they recorded a solid 3-1 victory over Aston Villa before that.
Head-to-Head
The most recent clash between the sides came earlier this season where United won 2-1 at home. They met twice last season as well. Where Chelsea won the corresponding fixture 1-0 after the season opener was drawn at one goal apiece.

Chelsea 2.30
Draw 3.65
Manchester United 3.15
Verdict
Chelsea’s recent struggles are a concern, particularly defensively while Manchester United have been slightly more consistent despite the Leeds result when they were reduced to 10 men. With both sides possessing attacking quality but showing defensive weaknesses, this could be an open encounter. But I believe United will get the job done in a high scoring match.
BET: Manchester United to Win at 3.15
For a slightly bigger price Manchester United and over 2.5 goals is trading at 4.50
