Turffontein 02 March 2024
Cherry Oh Baby Race 1 Number 7 2/1
Having being backed in to even money on debut, Cherry Oh Baby found the pace of the Turffontein 1160 a bit too hot and saw herself way out of her ground after jumping slow and racing hopelessly green before running on towards the end of the race to finish 4th.
Coming from the same family as multiple 1600m winners Blossom and Seventh Gear, there is no doubt that the step straight up to a mile will be ideal, and it will be no surprise to see our selection improve leaps and bounds from a debut which is producing some encouraging formlines.

Night Ruler Race 5 Number 4 8/1
A hotly contested Cape B Stakes awaits us with a mix of hard knockers and up and coming horses going head to head over the Kenilworth 1800.
Our selection will be looking to bounce back after 2 mediocre runs, in which he had excuses for both after being very slow away in his penultimate start and then reported as having a respiratory noise last time after also being ridden too handy.
His previous form, however, brings him right into the race, having beaten dual Grade 1 runner Montien as well as running him to 2 lengths – both times giving weight, as well as also finishing ahead of Durban July hopeful Mucho Dinero after also giving him weight.
His record over Course and Distance is impressive, having run 1st, 2nd and 3rd in 3 starts, and should the race pan out according to plan, Night Ruler makes a very decent each way proposition.
