Stage 8 of the Tour de France starts in Saint-Méen-le-Grand and ends 171.4km later in Laval Espace Mayenne. Sprinters will have another opportunity , with few challenges on route and this stage is set for a high-speed finish. We look at the stage from a betting angle and offer up our selection for consideration.
Stage 7 Review
As expected the stage was easier to control than Stage 6 and although the break took longer to form than I expected (over 50km) it was always kept in check.
The big 3, Pogacar, Vingegaard and Evenepoel separated themselves up the steep sections of the final climb but a small group came together where our stage pick Pogacar delivered the win and took the yellow jersey. Vingegaard was impressive in 2nd and has improved his speed on the flatter slops.

Stage Profile
This stage is not as flat as it appears and there is rolling terrain but it would be a surprise to get anything but a sprint finish.
Stage 8 – What to Expect
There might be a short battle for the break and a small group should get clear but will be held to 3-4 minutes by the sprinters teams.
It will come back together for a bunch finish.
