The first ITT of the Tour takes place in Caen and is a key opportunity for time trial specialists to shine and Yellow Jersey contenders to make a statement. This rolling, fast course will reveal any weakness in the general classification contenders and we look at the stage from a betting angle and offer up a selection for consideration.
Stage 4 Review
Stage 4 was everything we hoped it would be. A fairly strong 4 man break went clear but as expected they were given very little leash. It was clear that Alpecin fancied the stage for Yellow Jersey Van Der Poel and UAE were keen for Pogacar to win the 100th stage of his career.
There was a crazy pace over the last 50km and on the final climb Pogacar and Vingegaard got clear and for a few seconds it looked like Pogacar would solo to victory.
The pair came back together though and were joined by a few select riders including Van Der Poel who started his sprint early but had Pogacar come around him for victory with Vingegaard an impressive 3rd.
Outright Betting Update

Tadej Pogacar 3.00
Biniam Girmay 5.00
Mathieu Van Der Poel 6.00
Tim Merlier 9.00

Stage Profile
A 33km flat but rolling loop in and around Caen with minimal elevation gain—ideal terrain for powerful time trialists. Three intermediate time checks will allow teams to track pacing strategies.
Stage 5 – What to Expect
We have a massive favourite in the form or Remco Evenepoel and it would be a surprise were he to be beaten.
Although there are a few ITT specialists in the field such as Affini, the Yellow Jersey contenders should dominate.
Stage 5 Betting – click here to bet
Remco Evenepoel 1.22
Jonas Vingegaard 8.00
Tadej Pogacar 12.00
Edoardo Affini 29.00
Wout Van Aert 51.00
Primoz Roglic 51.00
Matteo Jorgenson 51.00
Bet: Pogacar win at 12.00
It won’t be easy to beat Remco but he had a crash 2 stages back and that can have an effect. Pogacar did a poor ITT by his standards in the Dauphine and this looks worth a small play.
