We are back to flatter terrain on Monday and Stage 3 a 178.3km route from Valenciennes to Dunkerque should see the 1st true bunch sprint of the Tour. We take a look at the stage from a betting angle and look to follow up on our winning selection of Van Der Poel for the win in Stage 2.
Stage 2 Review
The stage started in wet and windy conditions and as expected a small break was allowed clear but kept on a tight leash. The action heated up in the last 35km and although not quite as wild as I expected a very select group of riders crested the final limb together.
Our stage pick Van Der Poel always looked strong and was covering moves and he managed to hold off a fast finishing Pogacar to land the bet.

Stage Profile This 178.3-kilometre stage from Valenciennes to Dunkirk features just 800 metres of elevation gain, making it perfect for a bunch sprint.
Stage 3 – What to Expect
The usual pattern of a small and controlled break is expected and while there is wind on the route it is mainly head wind in the latter quarter of the race and this means splits in the bunch are unlikely.
Stage 3 Betting – click here to bet
Tim Merlier 2.75
Jonathan Milan 3.00
Jasper Philipsen 4.33
Biniam Girmay 15.00
Jordi Meeus 17.00
Soren Waerenskjold 29.00
Dylan Groenewegen 34.00
Bet: Philipsen win at 4.33
Philipsen is riding well and he defended his yellow jersey with honour before handing it to his teammate. His team look for their 3rd successive stage and with Van Der Poel to lead him out he should be right there.
