Stage 15 of the Tour de France sees the riders set out from Muret and finish 169.3km later in Carcassone. The terrain is a lot friendlier than Stage 14 but there are 2 Cat 3 climbs and a Cat 2 in the 2nd half that should make it too tough for the pure sprinters.
We preview the stage and look at the latest Jersey betting.
Stage 14 Review
Thymen Arensman put in the ride of his life to win from the breakaway having gone solo before the top of the penultimate Cat 1 climb. He held off the peloton with Pogacar finishing 2nd ahead of Vingegaard who looked stronger than he has in recent days.
The big news of the day was the abandonment for Remco Evenepoel who looked totally spent and Skjelmose who was involved in a crash.

Stage Profile
A flattish start with the sprint after 59km. They then tackle a couple of Cat 3 climbs with the 2nd a fair challenge at 6.2km at an average of 5.5%. The final Cat 2 limb is 2.9km at 10.2% and while there are still 53km left there is another 13km of climbing straight after and then a long descent to a flat final 8km.
Stage 14 – What to Expect
The start is fairly flat and Lidl-Trek may try and keep the race together until the 60th kilometre and the Green Jersey sprint. The break will likely form on one of the Cat 3 climbs and there is a good chance it stays away as this is not a finish that would suit Pogacar.

Bet: Van der Poel win at 9.00
As the betting suggests this is wide open but I fancy the chances of Van der Poel who can get right back in the Green Jersey race with a win here. I expect to see him in the break where he will hope for a sprint from a small group or he may elect to go with a long range attack.
