Stage 10 of the Tour de France takes the riders 165.3km from Ennezat to Le Mont-Dore Puy de Sancy. It takes place on Monday the 14th of July (Bastille Day) and the organisers have put together a brutal route that should see plenty of attacking and most likely some Yellow Jersey action.
Stage 9 Review
I expected a boring sprint stage on Sunday and while we got the sprint finish in the end it was anything but boring.
Jonas Rickaert was the 1st to attack and he was joined by his teammate Van der Poel. The other teams let them have 5 minutes and with a tailwind behind them a frantic chase followed during which the peloton split in the win on a couple of occasions.
Van der Poel went solo in the final kilometres but was caught in the final few hundred metres and joint favourite Tim Merlier managed to get around Jonathan Milan our stage pick who just held on for 2nd. That was important as we get our money back in the form of free bets – see promo at the bottom of the article.

Stage Profile
Bastille Day brings the first big mountain test. With a brand-new climb to Le Mont-Dore Puy de Sancy, the GC battle is expected to ignite. It is a rugged stage with 4,307m vertical gain so it is really up and down all day.
Stage 10 – What to Expect
There will be an all out war to get into the break with every Frenchman looking to win on Bastille Day. Pogacar would probably be happy to let the break go especially with his right hand an Almeida having withdraw but Visma may have other ideas and they will probably try and get riders into the break.
It may well be some time before the break forms and whether or not it survives will depend on who is in it and also if Pogacar wants the stage win and bonus seconds.

Tadej Pogacar 2.50
Ben Healy 11.00
Jonas Vingegaard 12.00
Lenny Martinez 17.00
Romain Gregoire 21.00
Michael Storer 21.00
Neilson Powless 29.00
Bet: Pogacar win at 2.50
The break stands a chance but there is a good chance it all comes back together in which case Pogacar can win with an early attack or a late sprint.
