The 2023 Tour de France concludes on Sunday evening when the riders tackling the 115.1 kilometre route from Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines to the finish on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
STAGE 20 WRAP
Tadej Pogacar showed just what a champion he is when he won the small sprint at the end of what was a fast run 20th Stage. Pogacar’s UAE team kept the break on a short leash and as expected it was the General Classification candidates that battled this one out. Felix Gall finished 2nd just edging Vingegaard who faded to 3rd which means we didn’t get our money back for our win bet on him in the 20th Stage. Brothers, Simon and Adam Yates finished 4th and 5th.
It was certainly an exciting stage to watch, but it is unfortunate that all of the Classifications were virtually decided and the only one that wasn’t. That being the King of the Mountains was wrapped up with two climbs still left to ride.
JERSEY UPDATE
Vingegaard will win the Yellow Jersey by a massive margin and he is 7.29 ahead of Pogacar with Adam Yates competing the podium. Ciccone wrapped up the King of the Mountains Jersey and Philipsen has long had the Green Points Jersey in his back pocket. Jumbo-Visma were deservedly the Team of the race finishing 13 minutes ahead of UAE.

THE ROUTE
There will be the usual sipping of champagne and photographs at the start of the race with the speed gradually ramping up as they head on to the Champs-Élysées. At this point a group of about 5-6 riders will likely break clear and build a maximum lead of 30 to 40 seconds before the sprinters teams bring it all back together with a thrilling bunch sprint to the line.
VERDICT
It looks very hard to oppose Jasper Philipsen who has been the dominant sprinter of the race, but he is very short at 5/10 and it is not in my punting repertoire to take such a short price in a Tour de France Stage. If you do back him though you will have the insurance of money back for 2nd place with the World Sports Betting Promo.

I have been impressed with Mads Pedersen in this last week and with the final sprint a bit of an uphill drag I am going to have a go at him causing a minor upset and beating Philipsen.
Suggested Bet: Pedersen win at 5/1
