The final stage of the 2024 Tour de France concludes with an individual time trial, 33.7 kilometres in length starting in Monaco and finishing in Nice.
Stage 20 Wrap
Another mountain stage and another victory for Pogacar who tightened his grip on the Yellow Jersey and won his 5th stage. Pogacar had said he would let the break sail and he was true to his word but the Soudal-Quickstep team of Remco Evenepoel had other ideas as they kept the race hard in the hope of distancing Vingegaard and putting him in with a chance for 2nd place.
The strategy backfired though when Vingegaard attacked with Pogacar on his wheel and Pogacar was too strong in the end with the top 2 on the stage finishing in their positions on the podium and Evenepoel finishing behind Carapaz in 4th.
Jersey Update
Pogacar leads Vingegaard by over 5 minutes heading into the ITT with Remco 3rd over 8 minutes down and 4th placed Almeida is almost 17 minutes back.
Carapaz wrapped up the King of the Mountains, Girmay will get the Green Jersey, Evenepoel the White Young Riders Jersey and Team UAE ran away with the team competition.

STAGE 21 ROUTE
We don’t get the traditional Paris sprint due to the Olympics and instead we have an individual time trial over 33.7km. The 1st half of the stage features an 8.1km climb at 5.6% and the last 5kn are flat.
STAGE 21 TACTICS
It is an ITT but riders will need to pace themselves but ultimately the riders need to go as hard as they can in the race of truth. It is a pity the time gaps are so big as that will take away from the excitement on the stage.

PREDICTION
The climb should take out most of the riders and we will likely have the top riders in the overall fighting it out. Pogacar is the favourite but at 6/10 I am going to take him on and back Vingegaard who showed improvement yesterday and will be desperate for a stage win.
