Ons Jabeur plays her second Wimbledon Final in a row when she takes on Marketa Vondrousova at Wimbledon on Saturday and we take a look at the match from a betting angle.
MARKETA VONDROUSOVA
Unseeded Marketa Vondrousova despatched 12th seed, Kudermetova and 20th seed, Vekic in straight sets on route to the Round of 16 where she beat 32nd seed, Bouzkova in three sets. Yet another seed awaited her in the quarter-finals and she won the 1st set against 4th seed Pegula before losing the 2nd and winning the decider 6-4. Bookmakers could hardly separate her and the semi-final opponent, the unseeded Elina Svitolina, but Vondrousova was on top from the outset winning 6-3, 6-3.
ONS JABEUR
Ons Jabeur was last year’s beaten finalist and she made it through to the quarter-finals with relative ease beating the 9th seed, Kvitova along the way. Her quarter-final opponent was Rybakina the lady who beat her in last year’s Final and despite losing the 1st set 7-6 she came back strong to win the 2nd and 3rd sets 6-4, 6-1 to book her spot in the last 4. That match followed a similar pattern as she lost the first set to 2nd seed, Sabalenka, but the 6th seed Jabeur stormed back to win the 2nd set 6-4 and take the decider 6-3.

These ladies have met six times with each of them winning three. 2023 has belonged to Vondrousova though as she beat Jabeur in 3 sets in the Australian Open in Round 2 and won in straight sets 7-6, 6-4 in their last meeting in Indian Wells back in March.

Jabeur looks a worthy favourite here despite having lost both matches against Vondrousova this season. She always does her best work at Wimbledon and I am backing her to go one better than she did last year when she was runner-up.
I think Vondrousova is well capable of pushing her though and Jabeur has had a habit of dropping the 1st set. I am going to go with Jabeur to win this 2 sets to 1.
