3rd Seed Daniil Medvedev will take on 2nd seed Novak Djokovic in the Final of the US Open at the Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sunday. We take a look at the game from a betting angle.
MEDVEDEV
Medvedev was an underdog heading into his semi-final clash against top seed Alcaraz. But he set the tone early winning a tense first set 7-6 in a tie break before taking a 2 set lead. Alcaraz pulled a set back, but Medvedev closed up the match 6-3 in the 4th.
His quarter-final clash was a straight sets victory over 8th seed Rublev and in his Round of 16 he was pushed to 4 sets by 13th seed de Minaur, losing the first set 6-2 before winning the next 3 sets comfortably.
DJOKOVIC
There were many talking up the chances of unseeded Shelton when he took on Djokovic in the semi-finals, but Djokovic was too strong winning in straight sets and taking the 3rd set 7-6 with the tie break score 7-4.
Djokovic had cruised through his quarter-final against 9th seed, Fritz dropping only 9 games in 3 sets. His Round of 16 clash was also a straight-forward win over the unseeded Gojo. He was given a real scare in the 3rd round when he played 32nd seed Djere and Djere took a two set lead before Djokovic took the final 3 sets conceding only 5 games.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Looking at the head-to-head record between these two, Medvedev has a better record against Djokovic than most players. The pair have met 14 times with Djokovic winning 9 and Medvedev 5 and Medvedev won their last meeting in Dubai back in March in two sets 6-4, 6-4. He also beat Djokovic the last time they met in the US Open in 2021, this time winning all 3 sets 6-4.

Daniil Medvedev 2/1
Novak Djokovic 4/10
Medvedev looks to be in his prime, but he is facing a man who thrives on showing the younger players that he still has what it takes in his mid-thirties.
There could be some value in backing Medvedev at 2/1 especially given his strong record against Djokovic, but I am going to steer clear of backing a match winner here and rather look at the games and sets markets. This is a match that I think might well go the distance and I am going to bet that we get 40 games or more in it.
Suggested Bet: Over 39.5 games at 19/20
I am also going to have a stab at correct score with Djokovic winning in a 5th set
Suggested Bet: The Correct Score, 2-3 at 5/1
