We take a look at three standout fixtures this weekend, headlined by Inter Milan’s home clash with Lazio at San Siro on Sunday night. Earlier in the day, Bologna host league leaders Napoli in what promises to be a tactical battle between two of the division’s best defensive sides, while Saturday evening sees AC Milan travel to struggling Parma as they look to keep pace in the title race.
Speaking of that title race, Inter Milan have shortened further in the outright betting to 21/20 following their sustained domestic form, with Napoli still firm contenders at 11/4 after consolidating top spot. AC Milan remain well in touch at 17/4, while AS Roma are next best at 14/1 after last week’s defeat. Juventus are currently priced at 18/1, while the rest of the field can be found at 75/1 or longer.

SATURDAY
PARMA v AC MILAN – Click here to bet
Saturday’s late Serie A fixture sees struggling Parma host title contenders AC Milan at the Stadio Ennio Tardini. It’s a meeting between two clubs at opposite ends of the form table, the Crociati searching for a spark after a worrying dip in results, while the Rossoneri continue to quietly build momentum under Massimiliano Allegri.
The hosts have endured a tough start to life under Carlos Cuesta. Parma sit 16th on seven points after ten rounds (W1 D4 L5) and come into the weekend winless in five league games. Their 3-1 defeat at home to Bologna last time out extended that run, leaving them just one point above the drop zone. Home form has been inconsistent too, with one win, two draws and two defeats from their five league matches at the Tardini, scoring four and conceding six.
AC Milan, by contrast, continue to look a well-balanced and disciplined outfit. Allegri’s men edged Roma 1-0 last weekend to move third in the table on 21 points (W6 D3 L1), extending their unbeaten streak in all competitions to ten matches. Away from home, the Rossoneri remain unbeaten this season, claiming eight points from a possible 12 (W2 D2) and conceding just once in four away fixtures, the best defensive record on the road in Serie A.
Head-to-Head
Both teams claimed home victories in last year’s meetings, Parma winning 2-1 here before Milan responded with a 3-2 success at San Siro. That win for Parma was their first over Milan since 2014, with the Rossoneri otherwise dominant in this fixture.
Betting
Parma 9/2
Draw 57/20
AC Milan 13/20
Verdict
Parma just look short on belief right now. They’re not scoring enough and face one of the league’s most organised sides. Milan don’t blow teams away, but they’re efficient and know how to get the job done, especially away from home.
Suggested Bet: AC Milan to Win & Parma under 1.5 goals at 8/11 – Bet Builder
SUNDAY
BOLOGNA v NAPOLI – Click here to bet
Sunday’s late afternoon Serie A clash at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara pits in-form Bologna against table-topping Napoli in what promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the weekend. The Rossoblù have quietly established themselves among the early European contenders, while Antonio Conte’s Napoli continue to set the pace despite showing a few signs of fatigue in recent weeks.
Vincenzo Italiano’s side enter the contest full of confidence after last weekend’s 3-1 victory away to Parma, a result that extended their unbeaten league run to seven matches and lifted them up to fifth in the standings on 18 points. Bologna have been exceptional at home this term, unbeaten in four league outings (W3 D1) and boasting the best defensive record in Serie A on their own turf, conceding just once while scoring seven. They will, however, need to manage their energy levels carefully after Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Brann.
Napoli, meanwhile, held onto top spot despite being frustrated in a goalless home draw with Como last time out. The Partenopei have collected 22 points from ten games (W7 D1 L2), and while their recent away form has been mixed, they did respond to back-to-back road defeats with a composed 2-0 victory at Lecce at the back end of last month. Conte’s men remain one of the most balanced sides in the division, scoring 16 goals and conceding just eight. Having also recorded consecutive domestic clean sheets, Napoli head north following a midweek Champions League encounter that ended 0-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt in Naples.
Head-to-Head
Napoli collected four points from a possible six against Bologna last season, winning 3-0 at home before a 1-1 draw in this fixture. The visitors are unbeaten in their last six trips to the Dall’Ara (W2 D4), while Bologna haven’t beaten Napoli on home soil since 2019. The last three meetings here have all ended level.
Betting
Bologna 19/10
Draw 43/20
Napoli 8/5
Verdict
Bologna are tough to beat at home, and Napoli don’t often get dragged into high-scoring matches these days. Both sides defend extremely well, so this could easily turn into a tight, tactical contest. A draw wouldn’t surprise, especially with tired legs after midweek action.
Suggested Bet: Draw at 43/20
INTER MILAN v LAZIO – Click here to bet
Sunday night’s late Serie A fixture at San Siro sees title-chasing Inter Milan host resurgent Lazio in a meeting between two sides in strong domestic form. The Nerazzurri have been relentless in front of goal under Cristian Chivu, while Maurizio Sarri’s men are quietly climbing the table after a steady turnaround in results.
Inter enter the weekend sitting second in the table on 21 points (W7 L3) after a hard-fought 2-1 win away to Verona. That result made it six victories from their last seven Serie A outings, underlining the consistency that has defined their campaign so far. The hosts boast the league’s best attacking record with 24 goals scored, while defensively they’ve conceded 12. Their form at San Siro remains formidable, three straight home wins domestically, scoring nine and conceding just two during that run. Having faced Kairat Almaty in midweek Champions League action, Chivu’s side will be eager to maintain focus and avoid any European hangover as they look to keep pace with leaders Napoli.
Lazio make the trip north on the back of a 2-0 victory over Cagliari on Monday night, their sixth consecutive match unbeaten, a run that’s seen them collect 12 points from a possible 18. Sarri’s men have tightened up considerably in recent weeks, recording four straight league clean sheets and conceding just seven goals all season. The Biancocelesti sit eighth on 15 points (W4 D3 L3) and have shown clear improvement away from home, where they’re now three unbeaten after losing their opening two road fixtures. Their away record (W1 D2 L2) may appear modest, but they’ve kept things tight, scoring and conceding only three goals apiece. With no European distractions this week, Lazio arrive fresher than their hosts and will certainly be in confident mood.
Head-to-Head
Inter are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Lazio in all competitions. Last season saw Inter collect four points from six, winning 6-0 in Rome before a 2-2 draw at San Siro. The Nerazzurri also hold a strong home record in this fixture, unbeaten in their last eight encounters at the San Siro, with Lazio’s most recent victory here dating back to 2019.
Betting
Inter Milan 2/5
Draw 4/1
Lazio 25/4
Verdict
Inter are flying right now and rarely slip up at San Siro, but Lazio’s defensive shape will make them work for it. This should be competitive, yet Inter’s extra quality and home form should see them edge another close one.
