Serie A rolls into December with three intriguing fixtures spread across the weekend. Inter Milan set the tone on Saturday at San Siro, where the league’s top scorers welcome an upward-moving Como side intent on testing their credentials in the top flight. Sunday opens in Rome as Lazio look to steady themselves against a Bologna outfit pushing hard for Europe. The action then concludes in Naples, where defending champions Napoli put their unbeaten home run on the line against a rejuvenated Juventus side growing in belief under Luciano Spalletti. Here are my thoughts on each game, along with a suggested bet for every fixture.
Ahead of the weekend slate, Inter Milan continue to set the pace in the outright market at 5/4, with AC Milan and Napoli the closest challengers at 3/1. Roma are quoted at 10/1, while Juventus hover just behind the frontrunners at 22/1. The rest of the contenders are available at 66/1 or greater.

SATURDAY
INTER MILAN v COMO 1907 – Click here to bet
Inter Milan return to San Siro looking to build on a productive week that closed out November on a positive note. A 2–0 victory away to Pisa ended the hosts’ six-match unbeaten run and lifted Cristian Chivu’s side into third place on 27 points after 13 matches. Inter have now won nine league games this season and steadied themselves after back-to-back defeats against AC Milan in Serie A and Atletico Madrid in Europe. At the time of writing, they were still due to face Venezia in the Coppa Italia round of 16, another opportunity to maintain momentum heading into this fixture.
At home, Inter have taken 15 points from a possible 21, winning five of seven league games while scoring a league-high 17 goals at San Siro. Their most recent outing in front of their own supporters ended in defeat to Milan, so avoiding consecutive home league losses will be a priority. Their strong attacking numbers and long-standing dominance in this fixture underline the size of the challenge awaiting the visitors.
Como, meanwhile, arrive in Milan in superb form. Their 2–0 victory over Sassuolo extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 12 matches (six wins and six draws), a stretch that has propelled them into fifth place with 24 points. Cesc Fàbregas’s side have shown a clear identity that is organised, disciplined, and ruthless when chances arrive. Their league record of six wins, six draws and only one defeat speaks of consistency and tactical clarity. At the time of writing, they were also preparing for a midweek Coppa Italia trip to Fiorentina, another stern test before turning their focus to Inter.
On the road, Como have pieced together a five-match unbeaten run, earning nine points with two wins and three draws. Their standout away performance was a 5–1 victory at Torino, their highest-scoring outing of the season and a statement that they can threaten established Serie A sides.
Head-to-Head
Inter have won all four previous league meetings with Como without conceding. Last season’s encounters ended 2–0 to the Nerazzurri both home and away.
Betting
Inter Milan 27/50
Draw 13/4
Como 19/4
Verdict
Inter look more settled after a tricky spell, and their strong home form, especially in front of goal at San Siro, gives them a solid platform. Como are no pushovers, with Fàbregas’s side showing purpose and belief in a long unbeaten run. Still, the hosts should create the clearer chances, making them the likely winners in what could be a tight, low-scoring contest.
Suggested Bet: Inter Milan win & Under 4.5 Goals at 91/100
SUNDAY
LAZIO v BOLOGNA – Click here to bet
We open Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico, where Lazio return home aiming to respond after last weekend’s 1–0 defeat away to AC Milan. Their campaign began poorly with just three points from their opening four games, but a six-match unbeaten run (W3 D3) dragged them back into contention. Since then, form has stalled again with one win and two defeats from their last three, leaving Maurizio Sarri eager to halt the slide. Lazio sit 8th on 18 points from 13 matches (W5 D3 L5), and after expending energy climbing out of that early-season hole, they cannot afford another setback.
There are positives for Sarri to draw from, most notably at home. Lazio are unbeaten in their last four at the Olimpico, winning their last three without conceding, with clean-sheet victories over Juventus, Cagliari and Lecce. Across the campaign, they have taken 13 points from 18 in Rome, winning four, drawing one and losing only once. With 12 goals scored and just four conceded, they will approach Sunday with confidence, though they will be wary of a Bologna side eager to respond to last week’s disappointment.
Bologna make the trip to Rome looking to reset after Monday’s surprising 3–1 home defeat to Cremonese halted their momentum. It was an uncharacteristic setback for Vincenzo Italiano’s men, who went into that game unbeaten in 12 across all competitions and pushing for a top-four place. Instead, the result cost them momentum, dropping them to sixth on 24 points (W7 D3 L3). With three fixtures squeezed into a seven-day stretch, split between Coppa Italia and Serie A, depth and rotation will be key as they try to regroup.
Away from home, Bologna have impressed. They are unbeaten in their last six on the road in all competitions, winning their last two Serie A trips to Parma and Udinese, scoring six times and conceding just once. They have collected 11 points on their travels (W3 D2 L2) and interestingly lead the league for goals scored away from home, netting 12 and conceding seven. That blend of productivity and resilience gives Italiano’s side every reason to back themselves in Rome.
Head-to-Head
Both sides won their home fixtures last season — Lazio 3–0 in Rome and Bologna 5–0 at home. Bologna have enjoyed the edge recently, winning three of the last four encounters.
Betting
Lazio 8/5
Draw 43/20
Bologna 19/10
Verdict
With both sides coming off defeats, there should be an edge to this one. Bologna’s slip was unexpected given their form, but Lazio’s recovery has taken effort too, making this difficult to call. What stands out is the scoring trend between them, recent meetings have produced goals and decisive outcomes. Another open contest feels likely, so backing a game where somebody wins and goals accompany it looks sensible.
Suggested Bet: Lazio or Bologna to win (Double Chance) & Over 1.5 goals at 11/10
NAPOLI v JUVENTUS – Click here to bet
We end the weekend with an absorbing clash in Naples, where Napoli return to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for their first meeting of the season with Juventus. Antonio Conte’s side arrive in excellent domestic form after last weekend’s 1–0 victory over Roma, a result that lifted them into second place with 28 points from 13 matches (W9 D1 L3). With back-to-back wins behind them and only goal difference separating them from leaders AC Milan, pressure is starting to build at the top of the table.
At home, Napoli have been as dependable as any side this season. They remain unbeaten in Naples with five wins and a draw, collecting 16 points from a possible 18. The numbers underline their consistency, 12 goals scored, five conceded, and an average of two goals per game at home. Conte’s men are also on a 13-match unbeaten run in all competitions. a streak they will look to protect after their midweek Coppa Italia Round-of-16 tie against Cagliari.
Juventus make the trip south on a similar upward trajectory. Last weekend’s 2–1 win over Cagliari extended their unbeaten league run to five and ensured Luciano Spalletti remains undefeated since taking charge, with two wins and two draws from his first four Serie A outings. They were also in Coppa Italia action in midweek, advancing to the quarter-finals thanks to a composed 2–0 win over Udinese. Despite recent progress, they remain outside the European places for now, sitting seventh on 23 points (W6 D5 L2), but the overall trend is positive.
Their away form, however, remains a touch uneven compared with their output in Turin. Juve have taken just eight points on the road (W2 D2 L2), though recent signs are encouraging, a 2–0 win at Cremonese followed by a battling 1–1 draw away to Fiorentina.
Head-to-Head
Napoli took four points from six against Juventus last season, drawing 0–0 in Turin before winning 2–1 in Naples. They are unbeaten in the last three meetings and have won the last two home league clashes against the Bianconeri, both by a 2–1 scoreline.
Betting
Napoli 27/20
Draw 2/1
Juventus 12/5
Verdict
Both sides arrive in strong form, making this a fitting way to close the weekend, but Napoli’s gritty 1–0 win at Roma still feels the standout performance. Juventus have made clear strides under Spalletti, yet recent meetings between these two have been tight, and Napoli usually handle these big moments well at home. With the hosts looking that bit sharper in Naples, this could once again come down to fine margins, and another narrow Napoli win wouldn’t surprise.
Suggested Bet: Winning Margin – Napoli by 1 at 13/4
