Orlando Pirates come into this heavyweight encounter sitting top of the table with 38 points from 16 matches. They have recorded twelve wins, two draws and just two defeats, scoring 25 goals and conceding only 5, the best defensive record in the league. Their recent form has been excellent having won four of their last five matches with the remainder ending in a draw.
Their latest result saw them cruise to a 3-0 home win over Marumo Gallants, following a 2-0 away victory over AmaZulu and a 2-0 home success against Magesi.
Mamelodi Sundowns occupy 2nd place with 32 points from 15 matches. They have managed nine wins, five draws and settled for one defeat, finding the net 24 times while letting 7 in at the back. Sundowns remain one of the most consistent sides in the division and are unbeaten in their last six league outings.
Their most recent fixture produced a 2-0 away win away against Sekhukhune which came after a 2-0 home victory over Orbit College and a 1-1 draw away to Siwelele.
If Sundowns win this game they will be 3 points behind Pirates with a game in hand but if Pirates win the Sundowns dominance of recent seasons could be something of the past.
Head-to-Head:
Earlier this season the sides played out a 1-1 draw in the league, while Pirates claimed a 2-1 win in their second meeting of the MTN 8 Cup 2025 after the first game was drawn 1-1. Recent meetings suggest another tight and competitive affair.
Odds: Orlando Pirates 2.90 | Draw 2.75 | Mamelodi Sundowns 3.00
Verdict:
This is a clash between the two best sides in the league, and neither will want to give ground in the title race. Pirates have been imperious defensively, while Sundowns are equally disciplined at the back. With both teams evenly matched and recent meetings producing draws, I am backing another stalemate in what should be a close contest.
Bet: Draw at 2.75 (if you are looking for a bigger price consider the 0-0 draw at 6.00)

Stellenbosch FC vs Magesi – click here to bet
Stellenbosch find themselves 13th on the table with 15 points from 15 matches. They have recorded four wins, three draws and eight defeats, scoring 11 goals while conceding 18. Their campaign has been inconsistent, but there have been signs of improvement in recent weeks.
They claimed a 1-0 away win over Sekhukhune the last time they played and a 2-1 victory over Orbit College, although they did suffer a 2-1 home defeat to Polokwane City in between these triumphs.
Magesi remain rooted to the bottom of the standings in 16th place with 11 points from 16 matches. They have earned just two wins alongside five draws and nine defeats, passing the keeper only 10 times while letting 23 slip past their defensive line.
Goals remain their biggest issue and their last fixture ended in a 2-0 home defeat to Golden Arrows, which followed a 2-0 loss away to Orlando Pirates and a 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune.
Head-to-Head:
The reverse fixture earlier this season ended 1-1, while last season both sides shared wins on home soil with Stellenbosch winning 2-1 and Magesi claiming a 1-0 victory.
Odds: Stellenbosch 1.98 | Draw 3.00 | Magesi 4.75
Verdict:
Both sides are desperate for points, but Stellenbosch have shown more resilience in recent weeks and possess greater attacking threat. Magesi continue to struggle in front of goal and look vulnerable defensively. With home advantage in their favour, I believe Stellenbosch can edge this contest.
Bet: Stellenbosch to Win at 1.98
