Round 14 of the PSL continues on Thursday the 23rd of January with two fixtures scheduled to take place. We look at both games from a betting angle.
Let’s look at the Outright Betting before we begin. Mamelodi Sundowns are the favourites to lift the trophy trading at 1.12, Orlando Pirates trail them closely priced at 6.00 and Polokwane City are 2nd runners up at a price of 101.00 to win the league.

ROYAL AM vs ORLANDO PIRATES – Click here to bet
Royal AM have had a tough season so far and they are currently in 15th overall, fighting hard to move up the table and out of the relegation zone.
They have been poor when it comes to home fixtures, winning 1, drawing 2 and losing 3 in a row of their 6 matches with an aggregate of 6 goals for and 8 goals against in front of a home crowd.
Their last matched scheduled against Chippa was postponed (due to boardroom issues at Royal AM) and prior to that they took on TS Galaxy at home and lost 3-1.
Orlando Pirates sit comfortably in 2nd on the log after picking up 9 wins and 2 losses in their 24/25 campaign.
Before their latest game played on the 8th of January, they had been unbeaten on the road, however, after a 1-0 upset loss to Cape Town City they lost their unbeaten winning streak.
Head-to-Head
These sides went head-to-head in the league last season, meeting across two matches, which were both dominated by Pirates. The first match on home turf ended in a 4-2 Pirates victory and the second match, hosted by Royal AM resulted in a one-sided 4-0 win for the visitors.
Verdict
Orlando Pirates will be hungry to stay in the title race and they should have few problems against a Royal AM team struggling both on and off the field.
I am backing them to win to nil.

AMAZULU vs STELLENBOSCH – Click here to bet
AmaZulu have fought hard this season but despite this they have battled to string results together and they have won 5, drawn 1 and lost 7 of their games.
AmaZulu’s recent home form has not been pretty with just 1 point from their last 3 matches and they will need to step it up this Thursday to take the win from a Stellenbosch side who performs well away from home.
Their most recent match was a clash against Magesi, which was played away from home and won 1-0 by AmaZulu.
Stellenbosch are 8th on the table. They are on 16 points after 4 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses. Although level with AmaZulu on points they have 2 games in hand.
They are also battling for form and are without a win in their last 3 league games most recently losing 2-1 on the road to Kaizer Chiefs.
Head-to-Head
These two teams encountered each other twice in the 23/24 league, where the first match hosted by AmaZulu was won 1-0 by Stellenbosch. The second match was uneventful and resulted in a 0-0 scoreline.
The last time they met was in the Carling Knockout Cup 2024 and Stellenbosch, despite being away from home, picked up a 2-1 victory.
Verdict
I give Stellenbosch a slight edge due to their better overall performance this season, including a strong record against AmaZulu in recent encounters.
AmaZulu are 3.30 to win the match with the draw 3.50 and Stellenbosch 2.35.
I am looking for Stellenbosch to bounce back to form with 3 points on the road.
BET: Stellenbosch win at 2.35
