This weekend’s Premiership action concludes on Sunday the 16th of March. Each game promises action especially the top of the table clash between Pirates and Sundowns and we will look at that game and the Richards Bay v Kaizer Chiefs match from a betting angle, offering up a couple of bets for consideration.
Let’s us first take a look at the Outright Betting where the favourites, Mamelodi Sundowns are trading at 1.01 with Orlando Pirates further back at 21.00.
Unless bookmakers price up on a “without Sundowns and Pirates” market (hint, hint) or anything dramatic happens this weekend this will be the last outright betting update as it is pretty much race over.

ORLANDO PIRATES vs MAMELODI SUNDOWNS – Click here to bet
Orlando Pirates have held onto 2nd spot on the log for the entire season and they are on 40 points, 6 ahead of Sekhukhune in 3rd with 3 games in hand.
They are starting to find some winning form again after two recent losses and their home form remains dominant with 8 wins and 1 loss.
They took on Stellenbosch on Tuesday and with neither team being able to score the match ended 0-0 on Stellenbosch turf.
Mamelodi Sundowns have opened up their gap on the table to 18 points having played 4 games more than Pirates. Sundowns hold an impressive aggregate goal difference of +38 with 50 for and just 12 against.
They are on a 6-game unbeaten streak and of those matches they have won 5 and drawn 1.
They went head-to-head with AmaZulu on the 11th and with home ground advantage they won 2-0 as heavy favourites.
Head-to-Head
Their last head-to-head game was roughly a month ago where Sundowns won 4-1 at home. Sundowns won this fixture 1-0 last season.
Betting and Verdict
Currently Orlando Pirates and Sundowns are both trading at 2.75 with the draw 2.90 .
As the betting suggests this looks tough to call. If pushed I would back Sundowns as they tend to rise to the occasion in these big games and can put the title race to bed once and for all here.
Both teams have scored in their last 3 meetings across all competition and that is what I am looking for in this one.
BET: Both teams to sore: YES at 1.91

RICHARDS BAY vs KAIZER CHIEFS – Click here to bet
Richards Bay are in 12th on the log and are recovering after a slow start to the season.
Up until their last game which they lost 1-0 to Magesi away from home they were on a 6-match unbeaten streak, winning 3 and drawing 3 games.
They have been clinical at home lately and are undefeated in their last 6.
Kaizer Chiefs have been battling for consistency this season and after winning 8, losing 8 and drawing 5 of their 21 encounters they sit in 8th place on the log.
They have not been able to execute when playing on opposition turf which has led to them losing 5, winning 3 and drawing 2 of these games.
They met with Cape Town City on Wednesday and with neither side finding the back of the net the match ended 0-0 in front of Chief’s supporters.
Head-to-Head
These two sides met twice in the 2023/24 league with the home side winning 1-0 on each occasion. Their most recent encounter was earlier on this season when Kaizer Chiefs won 2-1 in November on home soil.
Betting and Verdict
Kaizer Chiefs trade at 2.25 with the draw 3.00 and Richards Bay priced at 3.40.
Richards Bay home form must be respected but I think Chiefs can grab an important 3 points on the road.
BET: Kaizer Chiefs win at 2.25
