SATURDAY
CHIPPA UNITED vs MAMELODI SUNDOWNS – Click here to bet
Chippa United finished 11th last season with 31 points from 28 games, recording 8 wins and 13 defeats. The Eastern Cape side closed their campaign in poor form, losing four of their last five matches with the remainder resulting in a draw and they scored just 22 goals across the season.
Mamelodi Sundowns were crowned Champions yet again, collecting 73 points from 28 matches with 24 wins, just 3 losses and a singular draw. Their goal difference of +52 and defensive record of only 13 goals conceded tells you everything you need to know about their dominance.
They enter the new season full of confidence, having ended last term with six consecutive victories.
Head-to-Head
These sides have met four times across the last two prem seasons, with Sundowns claiming victory in each meeting while keeping Chippa goalless. They met twice during the sides 24/25 campaigns, where Sundowns won both games 3-0.
Betting and Verdict
Sundown’s head into this encounter as 1.30 favourites with the draw at 5.00 and Chippa priced at 13.00.
Expect a dominant performance from the Champions, who should have little trouble seeing off Chippa.

ORLANDO PIRATES vs SEKHUKHUNE UNITED – Click here to bet
Orlando Pirates had a strong campaign in 2024–25, finishing 2nd with 61 points and securing CAF Champions League qualification. They were particularly effective at home and ended the season unbeaten in their final five games, picking up 2 wins and 3 draws.
With continuity in their squad, the Buccaneers are set for another serious title push.
Sekhukhune United surprised many by finishing 4th last season, earning 46 points with a respectable +8 goal difference. They were tough to break down but slightly inconsistent toward the end of the season, finishing with a loss and a win, as well as three draws in their last five.
A trip to Orlando Stadium is set to be a stern test to begin their campaign.
Head-to-Head
These sides come into this clash level in terms of head-to-head with each team winning 2 of their last 4 meetings. Their first encounter last season saw Pirates clinch a 2-1 win on the road, Sekhukhune then fired back to defeat Pirates 1-0 at home a couple of months later.
Betting and Verdict
Orlando Pirates are at 1.55 with the draw 3.80 and Sekhukhune further back at 7.00.
Pirates should take the points here, but Sekhukhune won’t make it easy. A home win with multiple goals expected is my prediction.
BET: Result and Totals – Orlando Pirates and Over 2.5 Goals at 2.85
SIWELELE FC vs GOLDEN ARROWS – Click here to bet
Siwelele FC – formerly SuperSport United but playing out of Bloemfontein- ended last season 14th on 27 points, just managing to stay above the relegation zone. Their goal return of only 18 was one of the worst in the league, and their form toward the end of the season was patchy at best with 3 losses, a win and a draw over their last few appearances.
They’ll need a strong home start to settle nerves early in hopes of an improved season.
Golden Arrows had a similar campaign, finishing 12th on the log with 31 points to their name. They ended the season on a bad note, settling for back-to-back defeats, however, prior to that they claimed a victory and drew 2 matches. They lacked cutting edge in attack throughout the duration of the league, scoring only 20 goals all season and their defence was unreliable conceding 32 goals.
Head-to-Head
With Siwelele entering the league as a new franchise, they technically have not met with Arrows before, this encounter will be a fresh sheet, and each team will be eager to earn bragging rights.
Betting and Verdict
Siwelele FC enter the clash with odds stacked slightly in their favour at 2.65, Arrows are at 2.90 with the draw 3.00.
I believe that given both sides’ scoring struggles, a low-scoring draw could be on the cards this weekend.
BET: The draw at 3.00
