The DSTV Premiership comes to an end on Saturday with all eight fixtures kicking off at 15h00.
Sundowns have wrapped up the Title, but there is still a battle for second place as well as the final top 8 spot. We select three of the games to have a bet on.
Orlando Pirates v SuperSport United – Click here to bet
Orlando Pirates are currently 3rd on the log and after looking in excellent form they have lost their last two games 1-0, away at TS Galaxy and at home to Richards Bay. They are 1 point behind 2nd place, Stellenbosch who also lost 2 games in a row.
SuperSport United are 5th on the log and have strung a decent run of results together with 2 wins and 2 draws in their last 4 games. They beat Swallows 2-0 at home last time out and their last 4 matches have all delivered profits for under 2.5 goal backers. The same can be said for Orlando Pirates last 4 fixtures.
Head-to-Head
SuperSport United beat Orlando Pirates 3-1 at home earlier in the season and Pirates won this fixture 1-0 last season.
Verdict
Pirates are 13/20 for the win with SuperSport 9/2 and the draw 27/10. Given their back-to-back defeats and failing to score a goal in their last two matches, I can’t take the 13/20 on Pirates and I think the draw stands out here as the value.
Suggested Bet: The draw at 27/10
Richards Bay v Stellenbosch – Click here to bet
Richards Bay are currently second from bottom of the table and a victory here and a defeat for 14th placed Royal AM would see them avoid the relegation playoff. They were beaten 3-1 away to Cape Town City in their last start, but prior to that had taken 7 points from a possible 9, including that 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates on the road. They won their last 3 home matches.
Stellenbosch are 2nd on the log, but are now without a win in their last 3, having gone down 2-0 away to Swallows in their penultimate start and 1-0 at home to Sundowns in their most recent start. Stellenbosch have only lost 3 times on the road this season.
Head-to-Head
Stellenbosch beat Richards Bay 2-1 in the reverse fixture and last season it was the away team which won 2-1 on each occasion.
Verdict
A couple of weeks ago I would have bitten your hand off for the 23/20 on offer about Stellenbosch, but if anything I think Richards Bay are the value to get the 3 points.
Suggested Bet: Richards Bay win at 28/10

Cape Town Spurs v Kaizer Chiefs – Click here to bet
Cape Town Spurs are going to be relegated, they are bottom of the table and 7 points behind Richards Bay. They have actually been in decent form of late and have only lost 1 of their last 5 games, all of which have delivered profits for under 2.5 goal backers. They are coming off back-to-back draws, away to Arrows and SuperSport United.
Kaizer Chiefs are 8th on the log and there are 4 teams within 2 points of them, meaning the Top 8 position is far from certain. They haven’t won in their last 4 games, but they have drawn their last 3, most recently a goalless draw at home to Polokwane. Chiefs have battled on the road this season taking just 13 points from 14 matches and only scoring 10 goals.
Head-to-Head
Chiefs beat Cape Town Spurs 3-2 at home in the reverse fixture.
Verdict
Cape Town Spurs are 7/2 with the draw 12/5 and Chiefs, the favourite at 17/20. Chiefs have been an expensive team to follow, but surely knowing they have to win for a Top 8 place will see them get past a side that has nothing, but pride to play for. I make this my PSL bet of the weekend.
Suggested Bet: Kaizer Chiefs win at 17/20
