The Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga plays host to the 2024 Nedbank Cup Final featuring two giants of South African football. We have a look at the game from a betting angle.

ORLANDO PIRATES
Orlando Pirates were too strong for Chippa United in their semi-final winning 3-1 on the road and they had also seen off AmaZulu 4-2 away from home in their quarter-final. Their Round of 16 clash was a comfortable 4-0 win over the Hungry Lions and they saw off Crystal Lake 6-0 on the road in the Round of 32.
Pirates had strung an impressive run of 7 successive victories together across all competitions, but they ended the season with just 1 point from the last 9 they played for, that came in their last game at home to SuperSport United where the match finished 1-1.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Looking at head-to-head form between these sides, goals are a rarity and the last 5 matches between the teams would have delivered profits for under 2.5 goal backers. The last match played was back in February at Mamelodi Sundowns when the game finished 1-1 in the League and Pirates beat Sundowns 1-0 in the MTN8 Cup and it was Sundowns who edged Pirates 1-0 away from home in their first meeting of the PSL season.

Sundowns have been the dominant team in South Africa for some time and although Pirates always give them a good game, I am expecting Sundowns to finish the season in style with a victory. I think their loss to Cape Town City was a once off and with the job to be done here I am expecting them to beat a Pirates side that seem to be limping in to the end of the season.
I am not going to get involved in the goals markets, but Over 2.5 goals is trading at 11/8 with Under 2.5, understandably the favourite at 6/10. You can get 11/10 that Both Teams find the back of the net and other markets of interest include the Correct Score where a Sundowns 1-0 win is trading as a 9/2 favourite and you can 6/1 about a Goalless Draw.
