La Liga continues in the New Year and we take a look at 3 of the matches taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday from a betting angle.
Real Madrid are currently 2/9 to win La Liga with Girona priced at 11/2 and Barcelona at 8/1.

TUESDAY
Valencia v Villarreal – Click here to bet
Valencia are currently 10th on the log and saw a 5 match-losing streak end when they beat Rayo Vallecano on the road last time out. A closer look at their home form shows they have played 8 games with 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses and they are undefeated in their last 4 home matches.
Villarreal are currently 13th on the log and they broke a 3-match losing streak when they beat Celta de Vigo 3-2 at home last time out.
They have taken 9 points from a possible 24 on the road this season, but have only won 1 of their last 5 away matches and two of the 8 Valencia home matches have delivered profits for over 2.5 goal backers and 50% of the Villarreal away matches have reached the 3 goal mark.
There hasn’t been an away win in this fixture since 2019 and having fancied Villarreal at 21/10 I am going to turn to the goal markets instead and bet that we get 3 goals or more in this one. This would have arrived in 7 of the last 8 Villarreal matches.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 17/20
WEDNESDAY
Real Madrid v Mallorca – Click here to bet
Real Madrid are currently top of the log with just 1 defeat in 18 matches. They are coming off a 1-0 away victory over Alaves and their last home game was a convincing 4-1 victory over Villarreal. They have been in great form at home this season winning their last 3 and without defeat in 8 matches.
Mallorca are currently 14th on the log on a decent run which has seen them go undefeated in their last 5 matches. They beat Osasuna 3-2 at home last time out and their last away game was a goalless draw at Almeria. Their away form hasn’t been great though with 1 win and 3 draws in 9 matches and they haven’t won any of their last 5 away games.
Mallorca stunned Real Madrid at home last season, but Real Madrid won this fixture 4-1 and the season before that it was a comfortable 6-1 romp.
I am going to back Real Madrid to score at least 3 goals here.
Suggested Bet: Real Madrid over 2.5 goals at 11/10
Girona v Atlético Madrid – Click here to bet
Girona are currently 2nd on the log with 1 loss in their 18 opening matches and they have been the real surprise package of La Liga. They are coming off a 1-1 draw away to Betis, but their last home game was a 3-0 win over Alaves and a closer look at Girona’s home record shows they have won 7, drawn 1 and lost 1 of their 9 matches, scoring 21 goals while conceding just 10.
Atlético Madrid are 3rd on the log, 7 points behind Girona having lost 4 of their opening 18 matches. They beat Sevilla 1-0 at home last time out, but their last away game was a 2-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao. Overall on the road this season Atlético Madrid have taken 10 points from a possible 24, but they have lost their last 3 away matches in succession.
Atlético Madrid did the double over Girona last season, but the way Girona are playing at the moment I have to say that they are the value to win this game.
Suggested Bet: Girona win at 31/20
