SATURDAY:
REAL MADRID vs LEVANTE
Real Madrid sit 2nd on the log and continue to apply pressure at the top after winning four of their last five league matches. Their most recent outing saw them cruise to a 5-1 home victory over Real Betis, underlining the attacking depth at their disposal. The side have scored 41 goals this season while conceding just 17.
They have suffered back to back 3-2 Cup defeats, against Albacete away in midweek (a massive upset) and on the weekend against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup.
Levante are 19th and remain in relegation trouble despite a recent improvement in results. They are unbeaten in their last three matches, including a 3-0 away win at Sevilla but consistency has been an issue all season. Defensively they have struggled conceding 30 goals in just 18 matches.

Earlier this season Real Madrid claimed a convincing 4-1 away victory, while the last meeting in Madrid ended in a 6-0 home soil pumping.

Atletico Madrid are 4th on the log and remain strong at home where they have consistently picked up points due to winning eight of their nine fixtures. They last played on the 4th where they went up against Real Sociedad and settled for a 1-1 stalemate. After 19 matches played they hold a respectable goal difference of +17.
Alaves are 16th and continue their inconsistent run near the bottom of the log. They have lost four of their last five matches and were beaten 3-1 away by Villarreal in their most recent outing. The team have lacked attacking flair netting only 16 goals while instability at the back has let 24 goals past the keeper.

REAL SOCIEDAD vs BARCELONA
Real Sociedad are 11th and have started to pick up consistency after going unbeaten in their last three games. Their most recent test saw them play Getafe on the road and pick up a 2-1 victory as slight favourites.
Although their performances have improved, they still hold a -3 goal difference, an indication of how they battled earlier in the season.
Barcelona sit top of the standings and are in excellent form, winning all of their last nine league matches and 10 in all competitions with their Super Cup win over Real Madrid. They have scored 53 goals this season and arrive off the back of an impressive 2-0 away win over Espanyol.

Barcelona claimed a 2-1 home win earlier this season which followed a dominant 4-0 display on home turf last season.
